Review for Learning Disabilities Assoc of America, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

I have been involved with LDA since the 80's in the role as a professional who has run schools for kids and adults with learning and attentional issues but also as an adult with the same issues. It is important to note that Individuals with LD/Add issues have life long challenges which continually need to be addressed with the emphasis on strengths and the recognition you still need to take care of business to be successful. It was started by parents and still has a very strong presence and balance between professionals and parents. I would recommend both parents of kids with LD/ADD and adults become involved as you make life long friends and networks for life long changing agendas and supports.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Focus on membership with the emphasis on the states who have maintained or increased there membership. Analyize the data to determine trends an develop a focus on current social media trends to attract younger membership with out reach to targeted audiences using the social media. Also look at strengths of LDA people knowledge base and use it in the social media.
