Review for Business Council For Peace, Inc. (Bpeace), Winston Salem, NC, USA
As a retiree, Bpeace is a perfect fit for me. I can share my knowledge learned throughout my career with entrepreneurs in conflicted countries who strive to build their business and thus hire people who desperately need jobs. "More Jobs Mean Less Violence" is our strategy. While our current focus is in El Salvador and Guatemala, I still advise people in Afghanistan that I worked with 8 years ago. Bpeace is an exceptionally well run organization with experienced leadership, dedicated volunteers and amazing results.

After retiring from a career in Human Resources I knew that Bpeace was the perfect place for me to give back. It's an inspiring journey not only helping many courageous and determined young men and women entrepreneurs but to also play a meaningful role in reducing violence in their country. I have since been an HR traveling mentor in Guatemala and twice in El Salvador, worked with two women who produce soccer balls in Afghanistan, accompanied many entrepreneurs around the U.S. to visit companies involved in similar work and taught a number of HR classes. I've been so impressed with Bpeace's very small corporate staff yet managing their very large group of professional volunteers who have brought many thousands of jobs into conflicted countries to reduce violence. I highly recommend Bpeace to anyone who wants to make a true difference in the lives of people living in difficult parts of our world.

Following my 40 year career in senior Human Resources positions at Target, Macy's and Ascena Retail Group I continue to be challenged by volunteering with Bpeace's dynamic organization. Its small but dedicated and knowledgeable staff, along with over 400 professional volunteers, has achieved amazing results in training entrepreneurs to create jobs and thus reduce violence in conflicted countries around the world. I began working with Bpeace in 2005 while I was employed and plan to continue working with them during my retirement.
