Review for Rainbow Village, Inc., Duluth, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been blessed to be the CEO of Rainbow Village since 1993. I have witnessed more than 200 broken and hopeless families transition to lives of wholeness, security, and stability. Rainbow Village is a sacred place where God's love and mercy abound. I look forward to being a part of this incredible place each day. Nancy Yancey

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my service as CEO.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

increase the number of families served by adding additional homes, education and recreational facilities and administrative space on one site thereby creating a true "village".

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

witnessing the miraculous transformation of the families that reside at Rainbow Village and seeing them return, after many years, as self sufficient persons living peaceful lives. What is most touching is seeing adults who lived here as children!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

people passionate about serving others. The staff are all dedicated to their work and consider it their vocation. Volunteers, of all ages and walks of life are giving people serving others by consistently "showing up" and offering their support!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

construct a model village for homeless families with children and provide start up funding for others to replicate the program. We believe we can make a greater impact by offering our expertise to other organizations locally and nationally.

Ways to make it better...

financial support was stronger.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

financial. As with all nonprofits, this year has been a challenging one. However, we have not decreased services to our families even as the demand for services increases daily. We remain good stewards of all gifts.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Rainbow Village continues to offer homes and supportive services including case management, financial counseling, life skills training and an after school program allowing families to break cycles of poverty, domestic violence and homelessness.
