Review for Sulzbacher, Jacksonville, FL, USA
As a retired person I have chosen the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless as my first choice among non-profits to support. I receive email updates from the Suzbacher Center letting me know of needed items, such as clothing, toiletries, etc. and my friends and I collect and deliver those items. I have served meals there and also helped with painting and sprucing up. I am very impressed with the overall atmosphere of the place. There is so much need and yet I always notice how the staff shows kindness, professionalism, respect, and and occasionally bring order into some very difficult situations. The Sulzbacher center feels safe to me. I never feel nervous about volunteering there. The food is good! No hungry person is turned away. Another thing I have noticed is that they know how to make use of whatever resources they have. There is no waste that I have been able to see. They really stretch the dollars there. I wish they had more funding and room to expand. The need is so great! I am thankful for The Sulzbacher Center.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Meeting the staff and residents. I was a little nervous going to a homeless shelter for the first time. Now I love to visit the Sulzbacher Center, and I love to hear the stories of lives changed.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Children's center employees, kitchen staff, administrative staff, and the Hope Team nurse.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
do a good job of transforming the lives of the neediest residents of our community. They don't focus on the frills. They go for true transformation and REAL help.
