Review for Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force Inc, Larchmont, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force (the "Food Pantry") is a groundroots organization that provides a direct way for volunteers of all ages to help provide food for their neighbors in need. Volunteers young and old do everything from collecting food in food drives, unloading food from our delivery trucks, packing grocery bags for our clients and distributing food to our clients. There is something for everyone! The Food Pantry is 100% volunteer, so over 90% of our proceeds go to food for our clients. It's a great place to get involved because every little thing you do to help makes a direct and positive impact on our neighbors in need and on our community as a whole.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing firsthand the gratitude from our clients when they are given groceries with dignity and respect.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

my contact with fabulous volunteers and wonderful clients. Together the Food Pantry volunteers have helped our clients get through the month, and there's a real sense of working together to make that happen.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Warm, caring, dedicated, energized. We have seniors, we have kids, we have volunteers who help out after a long day at work, clients who volunteer, people who have been working there since the Pantry started in 1993 and people who just started.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
