Review for GVA, Garland, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

GVA provides the opportunity for young girls to play league volleyball in a healthy, safe environment that fosters positive teaching and encourages teamwork. GVA provides college scholarships to girls who have participated in GVA - especially those who went on to serve the association after they stopped playing within the leagues.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the eyes of children who FINALLY get their first serve over. In the smiles of children who make a life-long friendship with a teammate. In the cheers and shouts of a group of girls who win a match as a team!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

help it grow even bigger and work toward obtaining a facility that could serve it year-round. A facility would allow GVA to open it's doors to even more people and invite boys and older children to participate.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

it's ability to serve all walks of life and the words of satisfaction expressed from the participants and their families!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

incredibly helpful and interested in their work.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the lives of 1000s of children in the area and bring the opportunity for a life style of healthy living to the community!

Ways to make it better...

there was a central location that could take care of all the leagues. GVA is so large that it must use several different private facilities that aren't near each other to provide the services to the clients.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the lack of funding and a central facility that can be used year-round.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I will work endlessly to help this association succeed!

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
