Review for Council of Jewish Emigre Community Organizations, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The COJECO supports our activities financially and allows us a space and usage of a copy machine free of charge. The COJECO informs us about many free cultural events and activities in support of Israel. (Posted by a GreatNonprofits staff member from a paper review.)

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Russian-speaking Jews. IT definitely exerts a positive influence on the community

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The annual legislative luncheons in 2008 - 2009 and fundraising where the best members of our community were honored. It is important to represent our community before the City and State legislature.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

All COJECO workers have always bee professional, considerate and well-disposed toward the member-organizations. Their advices are always helpful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

The COJECO would have an opportunity to really support member-organizations' activities and publish an information bulletin or a monthly newsletter about the COJECO's and members' activities.

Ways to make it better...

The COJECO should better coordinate its member-organizations' activities, provide internal and external information and improve public relations with the City administration, elected officials and other émigré organizations.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

I believe it is fundraising, coordination of member-organizations' activities, providing internal and external information (using media) and improvement of public relations.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I suggest to gather representatives member-organizations together with the Board of Directors more often in order to give them an opportunity to exchange with their experience and discuss the community's problems.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
