Review for YES Nature to Neighborhoods, Richmond, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Words can not express the awesome experience of the YES team (Blanca). The CYO camp was the best opportunity for my daughter to increase her self esteem and independence. My daughter and I are going through a very dramatic family change. The CYO camp provided the best forum for my daughter to focus on all the positive aspects of life. The camp gave me a new perspective of how I want to live my life and refocus my career in the creative arts forum to help other people to find their purpose. I have a disability which prohibits me from going back into the high stress and unforgiving corporate fashion world. The safe and loving environment radiated in my daughters eyes and her spirit. I was moved to tears when I visited the camp on one Saturday afternoon with three other Moms and my daughter dimples were deeper from her huge SMILE. My daughter Nanette Thompson speaks of the camp daily. She mises her councilors and wishes she could write to them. Nanette expressed how she loved that the councilors were from all parts of the world. Nanette has also ben inspired to becom a CIT and prays every night to have the opportunity to return next summer. My daughter was in tears thanking me for finding the camp and trusting that she would be safe. I could have never afforded to pay for the exposure that YES provided. Our lives have been forever changed. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Pamela Thompson

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My daughters emotional growth and perspective the world. Her fears have been resolved.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Add a career opportunity program designed to access each campers strengths.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

The counsilors, and the support team. The care and bonding of the total team was fantastic.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Travel and expose the campers to different countries throughout the world. To show the global perspective and that we may live differently, but mankind is the same. To remove the negative stero types that exist.

Ways to make it better...

My daughter could have stayed longer.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

To maintain the high standards that they have achieved during this very difficult economic period.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I would like to work and use my Marketing and creative business skills within the organization. I would find it rewarding a welcomed spiritual transformation that will help the organization to gain more economic support.
