Review for Seafarers House Inc, Port Everglades, FL, USA
Seafarers' House provides pastoral care and practical assistance to ship crew members and port workers at Port Everglades , FL. They care for over 180,000 visitors per year who come from over 100 countries. Their chaplains frequently help seafarers cope with life emergency situations involving loved ones far away in their home countries. Serious illness and death present the seafarers with the difficult decision of remaining at sea to support their families and pay for funeral or medical treatment or flying home to bury their loved one.
On the practical side multilingual staff welcome the stranger and make them at home providing free WiFi, money transfer services and a friendly person to talk to.
