My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Centre For Development Alternatives, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, , India
I've worked with CFDA for one month in 2011. This was an eye-opening experience. CFDA, its members and Mr Jayachandran Rajarethinam are making a difference in the local communities.
While there, working as part of IBM Corporate Service Corps, I learned about micro-banking, about India. I was impressed by how CFDA was able to help these groups of women create their own banking system. But it is not only about how to collect money and apply for a loan, it is also about education, about empowering women. And it did not stop at these groups. When a group graduates and gains in autonomy, they are encouraged to help other communities as well, not limiting to the CFDA projects.
It is this kind of people, spirit and gestures that can change the world, one piece at time. CFDA and its team are part of the solution.
