Review for Northend Jewish School, Seattle, WA, USA
Both our sons have gone/is going to the SJSC and we have nothing but praise for the school. SJCS is a wonderful choice for Jewish families in Seattle who wish to send their children to Jewish Day School but for various reasons find Seattle Hebrew Academy or the Jewish Day School on the Eastside not as good a fit. The SJCS is egalatarian and imbues our children with a strong, positive and proud sense of Jewish identity. The school's ethos of Derech Eretz or "being on path" coupled with the Gottman philosophy of raising children with emotional intelligence makes for a wonderful environment of learning to be full, moral youngsters. The academic offerings are very competitive and our 12 year old had a very smooth transition into Middle School where he was easily able to move into honors classes. The teachers are warm, committed and very knowledge in their respective fields. Perhaps most importantly, the SJCS has truly lived up to its reputation as a COMMUNITY school. We have had terrific experiences with many, many families and know that in times of need as well as in times of joy, the community comes out en masse to help celebrate, grieve and be there for each other. Couldn't recommend the school more highly! The Brumers
