My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Third Eye Volunteer Foundation Nepal, Kathmandu , , Nepal
After an eight month correspondence period in which I exchanged numerous emails with Bijaya, the owner of Nepal Spiritual Trekking and the Chairperson of Third Eye Nepal Volunteer, I finally embarked upon my journey to Nepal.
During the planning period, Bijaya was very prompt and informative in each of his emails. He was very interested in ensuring that my trip was just right for me. Prior to the trip, we exchanged emails discussing what items were needed (so much - school supplies, warm clothing, toiletries etc), and I brought a duffel bag full of items for donation.
The trip itself was amazing and wonderful and brought much food for thought.
I chose to stay with Bijaya and his family in lieu of a hotel in Kathmandu. This was a wonderful experience and far more enriching than I would have received, had I stayed in a hotel. Bijaya's family is warm and welcoming, they cook wonderfully, and as I found with much of the Nepali culture, they share what they have lovingly and give all that they can of themselves.
Bijaya has a vast and expansive knowledge of Nepali culture and spirituality, and was engaging in questions I posed to him about the country and it's history, as well as current trends and practices.
When I departed Nepal, Bijaya was able to take the donations I brought over, to a village in need, outside of Kathmandu. The items were well received and Bijaya followed up with me after his trip to disperse everything. I would highly recommend Third Eye Nepal Volunteering (and Nepal Spiritual Trekking) .
