My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Kids Central, Wildwood, FL, USA
I am a struggling single Grandmother raising 3 grandchildren. I stumbled on to the Kinship Support Group for relative caregivers about 18 months ago and I am so glad that I did. This group and our facilitator have been my lifeline. So many times i felt like I was drowning - just overwhelmed by the task of raising these children alone. Our group always lifts me up and reminds me I am not alone. I have made some genuine friendships here, people that share my situation - that understand why I do this. It started off as an 8 week program and I am still attending over 18 months later - we have become like family. Thanks for the lifeline!!

Cherrie, Thank you so much for the kind words. We are very proud of our Kinship Program. Many people are not aware of how many relatives are taking care of a family member's children either due to health issues, substance abuse, incarceration or untimely death. In most cases, when the caregiver assume this role they are unprepared both logistically and financially. The Kinship Caseworkers and Support Groups are a tremendous resource offering a wide variety of assistance. We're glad you found us!
