My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Smiles Forever Animal Rescue, Troutville, VA, USA
Smiles is a wonderful organization that pulls animals from death row from our high kill shelter. Smiles pulls the animals that other local no kill shelters won't pull. These animals are rehabbed and adopted to great homes.
Review for Saint Francis Service Dogs, Roanoke, VA, USA
St. Francis is a great organization that focuses on persons with disabilities. My daughter has the most wonderful service dog Hope. Hannah (my daughter) is in a wheelchair and was getting ready to go to college. We applied for a dog to go with her. Their process was wonderful and training the best! After months of working with the trainers they matched Hope and Hannah. What a great pair. Knowing Hannah would be living in a dorm room for 4 year with a dog they decided Hope was a good size for a dorm room. Now Hannah and Hope have graduated college and now living and working in Arlington VA. Hope is such a great asset to Hannah making her life a much easier place. Trainers are available whenever needed and the support the St. Francis staff gives is like no other.
Review for Barn Cat Buddies Program, Salem, VA, USA
As being a prior board member I can honestly say this organization has made a great impact in our community. Lots of cats have been helped and rehomed. This organization has great potential however it isn't as transparent as it should be. Members of the board at not involved in the decision of projects and spending. Though most of the projects are good projects but the board is not consulted. Up until resent new board members were appointed by one person and the office of president is appointed the board is not consulted. I had no idea $37,000 was brought in to the organization last year nor what the $31,000 was spent on. Financial reports at not given to the board. I a m very sure I will be receiving feed back for this review.
