Review for YouthCare, Seattle, WA, USA
I started volunteering with YouthCare thinking that I could make a difference in a simple and practical way in their Orion shelter for homeless young adults. Expectations fully met. But it was through volunteering with the organization and learning more and more about their programs and holistic approach to youth homeless that is super impressive. Yes - immediate needs are met (meals, shelter, etc.) But more than only this, YouthCare provides skills training programs (only in Seattle would we have a barista training program in partnership with Starbucks!), bike repair, computer hardware, GED, etc. A super impressive organization and dedicated staff. Although my schedule has changed and I can no longer physically volunteer, I've shifted my focus to supporting them financially and spreading the word. Keep up the great work!
