Review for Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago, IL, USA
GCFD does food rescue and distribution to many or most Chicago-area food pantries. Their work is vital. I've never been asked to opt-in to any sort of email service, and I've been a donor for over 20 years.

Review for Silent Spring Institute Inc, Newton, MA, USA
This organization funds ground-breaking scientific research into environmental causes of cancer - following through on Rachel Carson's work published in Silent Spring. That's all they do - and who knows, maybe they'll help people prevent getting cancer in the first place. Sure would be better than watching these painful deaths.

Review for Equal Justice USA Inc, Brooklyn, NY, USA
I'm extremely impressed with EJUSA's organizing around ending the death penalty nationwide. As an Illinois abolition activist, I supported both local and national organizations (and helped start a local one with a group of homicide victim family members, religious, and law-reform-minded attorneys); the national outlook and continuity of EJUSA were, I believe, key to our ultimate success in repealing our state's death penalty law, helping with information as to what was working in other states and with direct assistance within Illinois.
