My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Summer Search, San Francisco, CA, USA
My experience with Summer Search has been great and has helped in developing my life. I am currently studying to become a Civil Engineer at UMass Dartmouth. My first Summer Search experience was in 2003 where I took my first plane ride to San Francisco; the program that I went on was the Environmental Traveling Companions. I kayaked, went water rafting, as well as other activities which helped me build character, courage, and strength. The second trip that I went on was to Pennsylvania, where I met a large amount of people at the Longacre Farm.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
my success in high school is due to the new found confidence that I obtained from my Summer Search trips
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
find a way to contact students while they were off in school, work, etc. For example set up on instant messenger or something of that sort that would allow students to touch base with mentors.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the fact that S.S. mentors care for the mental, and physical, and social well being of their students.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
effective, inspiring, motivations, encouraging in the work that they do
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
serve a greater community and would be globally known
Ways to make it better...
I became involved in more Summer Search events
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Remaining in contact with Summer Search students after the events. Some students tend to lose connection with Summer Search after graduating, it would be great if there was a transitional phase for students going into college or finishing college and going into the real world.
