Review for Shirley Ann Sullivan Educational Foundation, WaKeeney, KS, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As Co-Founder of SASEF I have had the privilege and honor to helping her grow to help thousands of young people all over the world. There are no words to express the joy in helping a young person discover and steer the path of personal and professional success. Together with an incredible team of volunteers (there are no paid persons at SASEF) I have learned patience in the process of helping. As I write this review the word DIGNITY and CHARACTER continue to come to mind. These are two very important pieces to the puzzle that always stand at the forefront of impacting a human beings life. It's a joy, pleasure and again an honor to be part of the SASEF family. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this ten year journey and an invitation to join us in the journey if you have not already done so.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

building Children's Libraries in Brazil, creating youth non profit organizations in Angola and Liberia, hosting youth employment workshops in the United States, Angola, Liberia and Brazil, donating thousands of books to benefit primary schools, secondary schools and universities, organizing fundraising campaigns, hosting fundraising events and personally teaching in all SASEF hosted or invited to participate in youth employment workshops. Building schools and paying school fees "providing scholarships".

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Help with a more aggressive fundraising campaign.

What is this organization's top short-term priority?

identifying Youth Employment Opportunities Mentoring Young People Building Children's Libraries Donating Libraries to help young people who are incarcerated Identifying goals and objectives for Beyond 2015 Continuing to support the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals Fundraising

What is its top priority in the long run?

Fundraising to send more young people to school, build more Children's libraries, and pay more youth scholarships. Mentoring more young people into jobs and helping them keep the job. Helping young people fulfill their employment dream, dream sounds corny but its true. As an organization we are evolving to identify and learn where our greatest impact in helping. It's clear "young people need employment and entrepreneurial opportunities" to become self-sustaining and economic contributors.
