Review for Mana De San Diego, San Diego, CA, USA
MANA de San Diego was established over 26 years ago. In that time, Latina women have come together to support each other as minority group. We do so by supporing a) professional women through our Latina Sucess Conference, Networking Mixers and quarterly 'Platicas' or workshops b) un-insured and underinsured women via our annual Health Fair (in 2011 we served over 600+ women, men and children) c) women seeking higher education via our scholarship program and finally d) our signature 'Hermanitas'/Mentorship program similiar to Big Brothers big Sisters but more structured via monthly workshops, GPA requirements, Community Service & attendence guidelines. This organization embodies the concept of 'paying it forward'. Over time we have had our Hermanitas graduate, apply for a scholarship and recieve it, become members and ultimately volunteer.
