Review for The Friendship Circle, Palo Alto, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Friendship Circle is based on the idea that special needs kids are helped by connecting with normal kids - and that the normal kids benefit too by recognizing that not everyone is like them. Matching them up benefits both. My child is a special needs kid who can relate to adults, but not normal kids because they don't want to bother with him. Friendship Circle gives him a time each week where he can look forward to a buddy visit when someone closer to his age will focus on him.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing my child develop a relationship and enjoy playtime with his buddy

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

No big budget, expensive therapists, etc. They realize what's important is just social relationships between kids. And they realize the benefits go both ways, the buddies learn from their experiences.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

great. And dedicated. And flexible, they're always trying new events.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

not worry about getting funding

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
