Review for Brighter Dawns, Bridgeview, IL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Brighter Dawns is committed to building awareness of the serious water quality and access issues affecting families in Bangladesh and taking practical action to improve the water conditions there. The organization is led by a driven, enthusiastic and inspired team whom I have had the pleasure to work with as a member of the board of directors. While serving on the board I had the opportunity to work with the founder, Tasmiha Khan, the board, volunteers and the executive team on a very successful and fun fundraising event in NYC, advise on water, sanitation and hygiene surveys and hygiene training which I have a background in, and support awareness building campaigns, among other activities. Everyone that is connected to Brighter Dawns has a passion for helping others and the work of this organization - through building wells and toilet facilities and offering hygiene training - makes a measurable difference for many of the most vulnerable families in the slums of Bangladesh. This is an incredible nonprofit and very worthy of your time and support! Thank you to the team for the inspiring and essential work that you do.

Review for Earth Child Institute Inc, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Earth Child Institute (ECI) is a leader and pioneer for environmental education and is dedicated to supporting children in fostering a relationship with nature and their local environment. ECI is an inspiring nonprofit because it is one of the global leaders engaging children around the world on issues of sustainability, environmental health and innovative ideas to protect and support their local resources and environmental systems.
In a time when concerns of “nature deficit disorder” and children’s general detachment from nature is prominent, I can’t think of anything more important than teaching children and youth to better care for their environment and empowering them with lifeskills that promote greater participation, voice and inner strength. Such objectives and skills are essential for the coming generation, especially at a time when the earth they are inheriting needs substantial protection and care. I believe children are natural environmental stewards and am grateful for organizations like ECI that provide environmental education and interactive and engaging activities that bring children outdoors and foster their natural inquisitive and curious nature.
