Being involved with HeroBox.org has been one of the most rewarding experiences to date. I have been paired with 3 different Heroes and each experience has been unique and rewarding. What was supposed to have been me sending out a care package monthly, based on their needs/wants, has evolved into friendships and "pen pals", if you will. I was lucky enough to hear from each of my heroes on a regular basis, whether it be through letters, emails or instant messaging. Knowing first hand the difference I have been able to make while they were deployed is a feeling that you just can't put into words. Of course, i will need to find a way as I will be meeting one of my heroes in person later this year. Thank you HeroBox for affording me this opportunity to help those who give so much of themselves to a nation that will never fully understand exactly what these selfless men and women go through to keep us safe!
