Review for Usa Dance Inc, Medford, OR, USA

Rating: 4 stars

The Redwood Chapter of USA Dance in Humboldt County, CA is a monthly dance FOR ALL AGES. In fact, the local board of directors, who have served for the last few years here, are all in their 20's and 30's. Some dances, the majority of the crowd is under 40. But we do have our folks in their 70's. We are in our 50's. We have a Theme for each dance. For ex., in Feb. 2011 it was "Dancing Like the Stars", inspired by the Dancing With the Stars TV show. This month is "Dancing the Blues" with a local Blues/Pop band. Wear your Blues hats or girls' their 40's outfits, for ex. Some people opt for just come-as-you-are. There's no "rule". But it IS a fun chance to dress up or dress the part. All our bands are local talent. In June, it will be "Prom Night" and everyone is encouraged to dress like they're going to a Prom, from any decade. Last month was a Cajun Dance. But the Theme doesn't dictate ALL the music for the evening. They play all genres of music, take requests, etc. There is a dance lesson as part of the "Party", different each month. In the month of May it will be a Salsa lesson. We had a Country Western Two Step lesson as part of the Country Western night. We hold the dances at various dance-appropriate venues throughout the county, using a dozen different places. I also never got a reply when I tried contacting the main website, but if you google your local area like "any town and your state or county, USA Dance".....if a local chapter turns up, CONTACT THEM. Once you go, you will be in the loop and will see flyers for other dancing and get on the E-mailing list for your area.
