Review for Girls Write Now, Inc., New York, NY, USA
Gina doesn't have anywhere to write. She sleeps on the sofa in the living room of her Mom's noisy apartment in the Bronx. Late at night, Gina expresses her deepest feelings in a notebook she hides under the sofa. Sometimes her feelings come out in raging poems, sometimes terrifically imaginative stories. If Gina's lucky her high school English teacher will notice, and wish she could devote time to guiding the development this talented girl. If they're both lucky, Girls Write Now will be there. Fact: GWN is the only creative writing program in existence where talented teen girls are mentored one-on-one by professional women writers. Working together every week through the school year, these mentee/mentor teams soar. Despite widely varying life experiences, they have one thing in common: they are writers. And Girls Write Now is the place they love to be.
