Review for Daniel De Cordoba Bailes Espanoles Foundation, Dallas, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This is a not for profit 501(c)3 organization. The Bailes Espanoles Company is dedicated to the performance and teaching of authentic Flamenco dance song and music. The mission of the company is to promote, preserve, educate, teach and perform original and authentic Spanish dance and to foster the Hispanic arts and culture in Texas. Daniel de Cordoba Bailes Esopanoles is affiliated with Young Audiences of North Texas, Arts Partners, and the City of Dallas, Neighborhood touring Program. Thousands of school children are exposed to the rich heritage of Spanish Culture, its languagem customs, art, music and dance, which includes assemblies, workshops, master classes and residencies. As an active member of the board I have been involved in many of the school children activities, especially with presentations in the various Public Libraries throughout Dallas, to the delight of hundreds of children of all ages, as well as their parents. The Bsiles Espanoles Company is also a core member of the Latino Cultural Center, where the company has been seen in performance, as well as in numerous community and charitable events.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

a hundred different ways, especially in the beaming faces of children as they eagerly watched either a school performance, or a library performance, and then were asked to participate.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the dedication with which Daniel de Cordoba and the entire company approach each and every performance and/or lecture demonstration.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

personable and extremely helpful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

work wonders for thousands of school children who would be exposed to the rich culture and heritage of Spain, its language, customs, art, music and dance. How exciting it would be to teach a child how to play a flamenco or classical Spanish music guitar.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Board Member & I have assisted in the setting up of implements, such as castanets, tambourines, etc. used in children presentations and participation. IT is such a joy to watch the faces of children light up as they are asked to participate, trying on a particular cost.
