Review for Hearts That Purr Feline Guardians, Tucson, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Hearts that Purr Feline Guardians name couldn’t speak better to, not just what we do, but our mission. Kitties that would end up at animal control and most assuredly be euthanized for being fractious, just because their world has been turned upside down and they are terrified beyond words. At our retirement sanctuary, they are given one-on-one care, to show that humans other than their parent can be kind, and that they are safe. From their initial vet care, to spoon fed feedings, to spending hours and hours with them making them feel loved and comfortable, to home furnishings and plenty of soft blankets to cuddle up in, they want for nothing. Many kitties come to us sick and at the end of their life. We do whatever it takes to make them as comfortable as we can until they pass. This is the hardest and most rewarding “job” I have ever had....and I wouldn’t give it up for anything! A huge thank you to the founder for seeing the need and making it happen!

Hearts That Purr cares for senior kitties who more often than not have senior kitty ailments that require pallative care. Their love and tenderness guide each and every one down the usually short road to the Rainbow Bridge with dignity and all the food, toys, and loving attention any kitty would dream for in their final months and days. It is the dream retirement home for kitties!

As Secretary of the Board at Hearts That Purr Feline Guardians, I am honored to be a part of this one of a kind organization. It truly represents everything a feline retirement home should be. It is a home where elderly or sick kitties can live out their golden years with much love and attention. Kitties get the best one on one attention until the end of their lives. Retirement homes such as this should be in every city, giving all families with felines the opportunity to plan for the care of their kitties, should their owners pass away, or are just no longer able to care for them. An ideal living situation for any kitty! Top notch facility!

Review for The Hermitage Cat Shelter, Tucson, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been volunteering at the Hermitage No Kill No Cage Cat Shelter for almost 2 1/2 years. The 8000+ square foot indoor/outdoor facility gives the kitties the best of both worlds--safe outdoor area for the feral or unsocialized kitties to hide and an indoor area for those days that either get too cold or too hot. Sister Seraphin started an awesome shelter for animals that has grown immensely over the years and continues to get better. I think of nothing else when I am there--whether it be cleaning, socializing, or just giving an extra pet to each one. If you've never been at this shelter, it is a must see!

AWESOME ORGANIZATION......I have been volunteering at the Hermitage for just about a year now and I started out with grooming and working with the shy cats 2 hours a week....now I'm there 3-4 days a week. They are a great organization and have rescued many cats from the Pima Animal Control Center giving them a chance at a full and loving life, whether it be at the shelter or with their furever family! They provide loving care to the sick and aging kitties that need a little extra TLC as well as the little ones with URIs. Their #1 priority is the cats..................and that's the way it should be! I'll be volunteering there for a very long time to come!!!
