Review for Harvest Hope Food Bank, Columbia, SC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Having worked for may years as a grants professional in a small rural county in SC, I have seen first hand the good that is Harvest Hope. Harvest Hope using their ability to buy in bulk to help the smaller rural food banks buy more food for their dollar. Harvest Hope even delivers to the smaller food banks. Some of whom would not be able to operate if it were not for Harvest Hope. I like what the do so much I have become a donor. In stead of giving presents to some of my friends I am going to make a donation to Havest Hope in their name. BRAVO HARVEST HOPE BRAVO!!!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

That I saw how they were able to assist a small food pantry in Manning SC increase the number of persons served through bulk buying and delievery.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

allow donors to donate every month by direct debit and do it online so people wouldn't have to remeber to make the donation. Make it easier to give on-line. Also look into using social media to rasise money. For example use TEXT Havest hope to99999 to give $10 and advertise it on social media sites along with regular press releases to local TV Radio and newspapers

Was your donation impactful?

Their reputation and a lot of people out of work, one of which was my brother, his handicapped wife and theuir two children who recieved some assistance from a local food bank served by Harvest Hope.

What would you tell others about this organization?

They are a well run and sincere organization. They truly care about thier clients. You see that in the way they do thier jobs. They assistance as many people as possible and use only what is necessary for overhead.
