Review for Dallas Association For Parent Education Inc, Mesquite, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

DAPE is a 52 year old parenting organization that serves families and teachers of young children -birth thru age 12.
They offer classes, workshops, conferences, speakers and phone support .They have services and resources for pregnant families, teachers of young children, first aid and CPR, baby care classes, parenting classes and teacher workshops.

Warmline is a phone answering service where volunteers answer calls for parents, grandparents or teachers about young children

DAPE works on a shoe string budget serving 4000 people a year.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've seen parents' eyes opened to new ways to parent their children without phyical punishment. I've seen teachers of young children encouraged with how ideas of how to make their classrooms developmentally appropriate.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

wish for someone to money to help pay for programs.

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & volunteer, former board member, staff.

Review for Texas Association for the Education of Young Children, Austin, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

TAEYC is an awesome organization that believes in the value of young children, their families and their teachers.
They connect our state to the national level with NAEYC and support local afflilates all over the very large state of Texas.
They host a state wide conference with education for early childhood educators and produce an educational journal.
They are always looking for a diverse opinion base on what would help young children. They are always asking the question "who do we still need to hear from?"... "who is not at our table?".
They are hard working volunteers who spend countless hours working and advocating for teachers and families.
TAEYC is the best!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing educators learn and grow in their professional development.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Make it cheaper to join...

Role:  Board Member & I served on the local level as a president of the Dallas affilate and now serve on the State board in an appointed postion. I present at local and state level trainings to help early childhood educators get more education to better serve children. .
