Review for Latin American Legal Defense and Education Fund, Trenton, NJ, USA
I have admired Maria (Charo) Juega since the mid 1990's when we were both active volunteers in the Latin American Task Force of Princeton, NJ. She then had a broad vision for a group that would take on many projects that the Task Force, which chose not to incorporate, could not. This became the Latin American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
LALDEF has exceeded even my most optimistic expectations, notably with the successful identification card for immigrants, now widely used in both Trenton and Princeton.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The identification card (above) as well as meetings with police officers to try to stop the targeting of Latinos for minor traffic violations that would not be noticed with white drivers.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would clone Charo.
