Review for JOSHUAS DREAM FOUNDATION INC, Hazard, KY, USA
My name is Jacqueline Hare (Formally known as Jacqueline Hutton) and both my husband at the time and I were residents at Joshua's Dream Foundation. We encountered two times the heart ache of drug addiction, because we were both at rock bottom. We were addicted to oxycontin, a prescribed pain killer. Without even realizing what had happened, that small pill took everything that we had worked for. Our home, cars, and most importantly our daughter. We checked into Joshua's Dream the same day and left on the same day as well. I am not able to say that our marriage lasted because of the situation that I was ready to change my life and he was not, but I made a bold move and divorced my husband whom I married at 15 years old. He is currently in jail, where he has been for over five years now due to his addiction. Me, I am almost finished with College, graduating with my nursing degree. I have married again, and have since had a son with my new husband. I am also currently going to court to gain custody of my daughter back. I am proud to say that I am drug free and Joshua's Dream Foundation had a huge hand in that. I want to thank everyone that had a part in their services. Although tough at times, I made it 8 monthes at the facility and would love to visit again sometime if it is still open. I was one of those residents that went to the courthouse for funding, when it made the front page on the local newspaper. I still back up the words I spoke then. With God in your life all things are possible. Thank you everyone who ever prayed one time for me. It was greatly appreciated. Oh and by the way I would not be able to say that I am about to graduate College without Joshua's Dream. It was there that I earned my GED and even got to graduate at the local Community College where Donnie and Jeff arranged for me to go. THANK YOU, I CAN BREATH AGAIN.

Yes I have personally experinced the results of this organization. I will never forget the words that they spoke to me the day that I left the hill, Rev. Donnie said "Jacqueline, I know that you can make it, but you need to be able to let go if he decides that he is not ready for the change." Those words are what was racing through my mind when I finally left my husband and the toxic relationship that I was in. We have been divorced for 5 years now, and I am more than happy with the choice that I made.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I am going to say that I know the value of work ethic, but really guys, washing the same house three times a day?? And weed eating in the 100% weather down the hill that you can not even walk down?? Although it may have kept our minds occupied, it was just a bit to the extreme. Trucks can not even make it up that hill, and we walked it sometimes four times a day. Not the men, but the women. I think that I would have still made it through the battle without that experience. I still love you guys though.

How did you find this group?
There were times when I loved them to death, but there were also times when I think that all they were worried about was that monthly check that they got from my husband and I. We payed out over $6,000.00 total, but it was worth it to me. As for him, I'm not so sure that he would say the same.
What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?
After getting my GED there, I have since enrolled in SCC and only have two semesters until I will have my nursing degree. That is something that I am proud of, and it woud not have happened if I hadn't first followed through with working for my GED.
