Review for John Andrew Mazie Memorial Foundation, Wayland, MA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This organization has allowed me to help my mentee begin to focus on his future plans. We have done some volunteer activities together, seen movies, hung out for ice cream and shared in some of my family ventures, such as the Big Apple Circus. As a retired teacher, it has helped me continue to connect with a high school student and provide support in school and personal goals. Having seen a teacher, I can help him in working through issues he may encounter in the classroom.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the continued rise of involved students and their success in moving to a college degree.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the variety of workshops for both student and mentor and a genuine desire to make the experience a positive and successful one.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

extremely dedicated and determined to make each student success a positive one.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide even more assistance for meeting the challenge of college costs.

Ways to make it better...

I did not have a family of my own to care for. However, my mentee has become a part of my family and has responded really well to my 8 and 5 year old sons.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

finding volunteers and funding for the increasing number of students who are interested in the program.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
