Review for Feminist Womens Health Center Inc, Atlanta, GA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

I recently assisted in running the largest annual fundraiser for FWHC. In this capacity I worked with many of the staff, interns, board and volunteers in recruiting supporters and donations for the event. I worked closely with the volunteer chairs & committee to target new & old donors through mailings, emails and other appeals. The event was an awards reception & program honoring both national (Ellie Smeal ) and local feminist notables, and raised over $65,000. In the past I have served as a board member and have also been a donor for many years.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

these ways: 1) as a board member & volunteer seeing the organization successfully run a capital campaign & move to a much improved client facility; 2) seeing the dedication of staff to serve their clients with respect & sensitivity; 3) observing young women who have significantly developed their skills & self-confidence as interns; 4) having a well woman exam that was both empowering and informative; 5) having a friend who went through the DIS program & had a very successful & positive experience.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Encourage the leadership to evaluate their fundraising carefully & develop a long-term strategic plan including all fundraising efforts.
