Review for Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Inc., Norwalk, CT, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was diagnosed with Myeloma in 1995 so I was all ears when I saw Kathy Giusti and her sister Karen being interviewed about starting the MMRF. I've always been impressed with the way Kathy has applied her prior business planning experience towards developing a successful business model for raising dollars for research and making sure those dollars pay off in succesful applications. I support the MMRF for all they've accomplished and continue to produce advances in myeloma treatments and long-term survivorship.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I can't think of any.

Role:  Volunteer

Review for International Myeloma Foundation, North Hollywood, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was diagnosed 16 years ago when the IMF was the only organization focused on making myeloma understanble for patients. Compared to today, the information format they provided was ancient, just as the internet was. But it was invaluable to me.

And today by providing MM expert video interviews, a technical helpline, webinars, and so many well-written documents, the patient/caregiver who wants to learn more about MM can find everything in every format from the IMF.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

learning about MM, getting exposed to many MM conferences, and received help to become a better support group facilitator.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

hope they cold raise even more dollars then they already do towards the development of a cure and support for MM patients and caregivers.

Role:  Client Served & I started as someone who never heard of Myeloma to someone who helps facilitate our large support group.
