Review for Bering Omega Community Services, Houston, TX, USA
When I decided to connect through volunteer work with the Houston community I e-mailed a dozen organizations listed on the web-site "Volunteer Houston." Omega House was the only response I received. It was a prompt, informative and welcoming response that offered training to fit my schedule. My training was thorough and prepared me very well for my involvement at Omega House. What I've found as a volunteeer is a warm, welcoming, appreciative family of staff and volunteers who care about what they are doing and express that care easily and often to the clients and their families. I've heard family members clients express what a blessing Omega House is, that they don't know what they would have done without it, and how much they feel welcomed and supported by everyone at Omega House. As a volunteeer Omega House is a blessing in my life too.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
invite and encourage some crafts, games and live music at Omega House. This is currently provided at the Bering-Omega Care Center and a scaled down version of this program could add some fun and diversion to Omega House clients who may not be up to traveling to the Care Center or want as large and as structured a format as the current program at the Care Center.
