My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Project Safe Inc, Athens, GA, USA
I have been a volunteer with Project Safe for a number of years now. I am also a survivor of domestic violence so when I moved to Athens I was ready to finally give back and help domestic violence victims in as many ways as possible. I was blown away with all the services Project Safe provides. I am amazed at the follow up and services available for their clients in so many different ways, from finding apartments, furnishing them, following up with the client and offering groups etc. to help with continued success on starting a new life. I volunteer with shelter clients as well as women seeking help through the outreach program with resume building, job searches and budgeting. I have been a mentor and instructor for Project Sales, which helps clients learn the complete process of finding a job...from how to interview, how to dress appropriately, constructing a resume etc. This is an awesome program that helps woman get back into the job force once they leave their abusers. I am very proud to be a part of this organization and will be a volunteer with Project Safe as long as they exist!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
watching clients graduate from Project Sales and watching clients move into their own apartment and stay on their budgets!
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
NOTHING! Keep doing what you are doing...
Would you volunteer for this group again?
For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?
Did the organization use your time wisely?
Would you recommend this group to a friend?
What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?
Nothing! They always appreciate ANY form of volunteer work I can give and they are always saying thank you!
Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
All I do with Project Safe has an effect on me because of my past abuse. Every time I help a client I am truly blessed to know that person and they all appreciate the help they receive.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
