Review for City of Refuge Inc, Atlanta, GA, USA
City of Refuge is an amazing organization in the heart of Atlanta. They serve individuals and families experiencing poverty. Each year Peachtree Christian Church invites other denominations in our congregation to volunteer at City of Refuge for More Hands for God Day in October. We have 200 people who provide a variety of services in partnership with City of Refuge. Activities include hosting a festival for children, a medical clinic, providing flu vaccinations, assembling hygiene kits, organizing donated food in the warehouse, cleaning up the neighborhood, landscaping, and preparing and sharing a meal. The staff of City of Refuge has been most helpful in planning this day, and always provides education and guidance to our volunteers. It is a great opportunity to work with City of Refuge for one day as a volunteer, and a humbling thought that the staff and many other volunteers provide these services 365 days a year.

I worked with two children who attend the afterschool program at City of Refuge. They receive tutoring, homework help, love, recreation, Hip Hop classes provided by the Atlanta Balet. They have a great time in the afterschool program and really spoke highly of the staff.
