Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Arts & Culture, Dance

Mission: Yasmanth Inc. is an all-volunteer, youth-led 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit organization with the mission to preserve the world's culture by exposing both the present and future generations to its history, dance, and music. We strive to create an understanding and a renewed appreciation of these cultures through educational workshops and constant cultural exchanges.

Results: We have provided over 17 workshops, have so far scheduled 15 workshops for this year, and even more for next year at Children’s Museums, Art and Cultural Centers, Youth Centers at Military Bases, Centers for people with disabilities, and Senior Centers.

Target demographics: Aurora Over the Silk Road is for anyone and everyone who wants to learn about the Silk Road.

Geographic areas served: We work locally (New York City), nationally (USA), and internationally.

Programs: Aurora Over the Silk Road project is an interactive workshop that allows you to explore the cultural diversity of the Silk Road as you embark on a journey full of fun crafts, capturing performances, and sensational sensory experiences. Immerse yourself in the history, colors, sounds, and sights with original costumes, music, and folkloric dances of the many ethnic minorities found along the Silk Road. The educational cultural workshop consists of stations, which cover Science, Geography, History, Culture, Arts and Crafts, Music, and Dance. Participants will join Gul (the girl), Koy (the sheep), and Toge (the camel) on a journey through the Silk Road. With an interactive workshop as well as a performance, we enhance the learning experience while exploring the treasures found along the winding turns of the Silk Road.

AOTSR is outstanding. They brought a phenomenal program that served children and families of many different ages and learning styles. Their program was rich, thoughtful, and as educators, they were excellent to work with.

Aurora Over the Silk Road was an amazing performance. The performance took place during our Spring Break Camp 2014 here at Fort Hood. The children as well as the staff loved the performance. Anthony and Yasmine are wonderful people and I really enjoyed speaking to both of them. Yasmine and Anthony you did a great job! After the performance children were still talking about the silk worms, puppet show, and the dances performed by Yasmine. Thank you for taking the time to visit us here at Fort Hood.

I attended a performance in 2008 and I still remember it quite well. It was a memorable show and I remember my friends being impressed by the dancers for days. 5/5!

The group of talented young performers kept our youth entertained and gave them an opportunity to experience another culture. The crafts and activities were engaging and fun for all ages. The children really seemed to enjoy the interaction with Anthony and Yasmine as showed them some dance moves and drum techniques. Thank you for the enriching opportunity.

Yasmanth created an outatanding Program at our Youth Center on Scott AFB; engaging and thrilling all our children and staff with their culturally and visually-rich performances, crafts, and activities. The music and dance performances were exicuted with the utmost professionalism and excellence. The visual arts and cultural activities were unique and attention grabbing. This organization was an inspiration to children and staff alike. The professionals of Yasmanth should be very proud in how they are viewed as amazing artists of their craft. I would highly recommend Yasmanth to any organization who is seeking to provide a program that fully exhibits a broard range of cultural experiences.

Kohl Children's Museum was contacted by Yasmanth about the possibility of presenting their materials. After reviewing their information it was pretty amazing to hear that this organization was started by a brother and sister in their teens. I think that was one of the main reasons why we pursued having them come to the museum. Most of their materials and activities fit our young audience. Communication with Anthony was pretty good, there was some scheduling conflicts on their end for our first date, but they quickly came up with an alternative.

Although Anthony and Yasmine are teens, their attitude and professionalism far surpass their years. I was consistently impressed by their dedication and attention to detail throughout the planning process. Then to see them in action during the program was truly amazing. They brought so much life to the Silk Road and brought our Museum audience along for a wonderful journey!
