I was recently made awar of this organization through a good friend who has joined the board. I firmly believe we desperately need more organizaztions like this, run by women for women and their families. Studies show that when we empower women to change their lives and the lives of their families, we have a huge impact on the whole world. Kudos to World Class-Ghana Inc!!

I know a person who has just gotten involved with this organization and has nothing but positive things to say about it. The wonderful idea that every woman and child should have access to clean/fresh water is a worthy one

1. The work of World Class-Ghana is most needed- working to improve water and sanitation in Ghana.
2. The US based staff are all volunteers
3. The organization has involved Ghana woman

World Class-Ghana is helping people to get opportunities to move beyond poverty and disease...so that they can fulfill thier potential and care for their families. It seems that women, as the family-oriented adults in many families, can often make much with very little and use their new resources to benefit their communities. Although this is not the whole answer to the world's problems, small steps like these contribute to a better world for us all. I am involved in microfinance and have a number of friends who are working with World Class.

Clean water and sanitation are expected in our own communities, but available in many communities in Ghana only with the help of outside volunteers and donors. A grant for $5000 will go far as World Class-Ghana helps the people begin to address these needs. It will contribute to improved health and life style of the people, enable them to move on to increased independence, and demonstrate the goodness and generosity of the American people.

As i looked at thewebsite, it seemed to me that there are so many needs in the world, especially of basics like water, that a loan program using small amounts allows local communities to better themselves by doing things themselves.

Any traveler to a developing nation quickly realizes the adverse health consequences of insufficient and/or contaminated water. World Class-Ghana is focusing on a basic need that too many of us take for granted. This organization deserves a boost.

From what I understand, this organization serves a worthwhile goal of providing the means for women in Ghana to obtain clean water . This would help the whole community and is a great way to assist others in a very practical way!

I am a social justice activist and donor to many social justice causes.
World Class Ghana was brought to my attention by a long time friend (we met in college in 1960) who is on the Board of Directors. I read about their work in providing micro financing for water and sanitation in rural Ghana. These are critical to the survival and health of the people served. They use well established principles of micro-finance, including group support and technical assistance to ensure that loans are repaid. Staff in the US are all volunteers, so all funds received go into the projects. A little goes a long way. The leaders are well-educated and dedicated to sharing the power and privilege of their success for the benefit of others.

I am a retired political scientist specializing in Third World issues. It is very clear that throughout the Third World, water and sanitation are critical issues to large numbers of people in rural and small town settings. World Class-Ghana represents a relatively new initiative to address these issues in one region of Ghana. It is small, low-overhead, and well-organized to get results at modest cost.

I worked in the field of Health and Human Services in NH for 30 years. What is difficult for many to understand is that basics come first. Providing a means for clean water and sanitation is the first of many steps and a step that must occur. While I do not have "hands on" experience with this program, the fact that it is run by volunteers and works at a local level in Ghana to determine priorities is what makes a successful program.
