Mission: Women’s eNews is an award-winning nonprofit news service covering issues of particular concern to women and creating significant social impact through its work and collaborations: The competitive advantage of Women’s eNews lies in its unique combination of three functions: 1. Serious Reporting: Women’s eNews conducts high quality journalism on serious issues that are of particular concern to women. 2. Original Coverage of Under reported Issues: Women’s eNews publishes original reporting on issues ignored by other media. Global Scope: Women’s eNews reports on issues affecting women in the United States and around the world, and its Arabic site is aimed specifically at women in the Middle East. Women’s eNews also hires freelancer reporters from across the globe and provides them high quality editing so that they may clearly, concisely and fairly tell the stories from the perspective of those living the issues.

Results: Women’s eNews has undoubtedly had a significant social impact, directly and indirectly affecting the lives of millions of people by providing coverage of important issues largely ignored by conventional media. At a more nuanced level, the organization currently creates impact in the following ways: • Women’s eNews helps set the news agenda for conventional media; • Women’s eNews impacts opinion leaders and policymakers; • Women’s eNews is a resource and catalyst for rights organizations and activists; • Women’s eNews uncovers injustices, draws attention to issues, disseminates information, and empowers readers; • Women’s eNews helps foster, train, and support the career development of new journalists with a focus on social justice and women’s rights; • Women’s eNews raises the profiles and supports the leadership development of its 21 Leaders for the 21st Century.

The work that women's enews does both on a women's rights level and as a professional news organization is so valuable to women's rights that I wish more people will recognize them on the same level as other well known news organizations. I applaud them for their hard work and the strides they continue to make for human rights around the world.

Women's eNews is a constant source of inspiration and action to me. The protection of women and children has been a concern in my family for 5 generations, and we are moved to act. Women's eNews is one of the few things in the world that gets me to get my wallet out and put my money where my mouth is. Their reporting on international problems concerning women and children is superb, timely and, especially important, always gives us a cue to action. Now, more than ever, those of us who deeply care about women and children's welfare have to do more than "tsk, tsk" and Women's eNews helps us take a moment from a crazy-busy profession and make a personal difference. Thank goodness for this excellent source of news and inspiration. It touches me every day.

I have been receiving Women's e-News for almost a year. In its near-daily detailed stories, I learn more about the issues women face all over the world. The stories are personalized to show the impact these issues have, but are also linked to politics, feminism, psychology, sociology and cultural studies so that their context can be amplified. I feel more in touch with women around the world. This is imperative for me, as I am in the midst of writing a doctoral dissertation about cultural projections on women and the mythologies that build up around them. Thanks to Women's e-News, I am able to examine these ideas in light of the lives of women who face unbelievable challenges and who continually succeed under the mantle of gender oppression. Through these stories and the connections they have helped me make, I am reminded daily why I am doing the work that I do.

Women's eNews covers stories about women that you can't find anywhere else. I enjoy reading about the women of the Middle East particularly and that is even more interesting given the current situation.

Women's eNews has also done a fabulous job of honoring women from around the world who have done extraordinary things to help women and girls. I have been privileged to attend two of these events and was so impressed

It's good to see articles that affect women in the workplace, in the home and the community, read the stories and find out more on how to help bring change to ourselves and the communities and workplaces we are in. As a Canadian, I still find many of these issues relevant for me, though unable of course to write govt reps in the US.

I would like to see more articles on ageism, as I feel here in Canada at least that this is a very strong mindset especially with companies hiring young people with very little experience to handle positions of responsibility and importance without the background and maturity to objectively assess candidates who are older than 35 or even to work with colleagues who are ten to twenty years older than them. This is not just my own personal experience, but I've listened to and heard of number of men and women express the same opinion.

Good luck. Enjoy your articles thought don't necessarily read all of them.

This is a great resource - and the only resource of its kind - to focus on reporting news that matters to women. Like Public Radio, Women's eNews serves an essential function and I'm grateful for it!

Women's eNews helps me stay plugged into issues and organizations I care about but don't have the time to track individually. The friends who introduced me to this resource confirmed that the quality of the information meets my high standards.

I was invited to Women's eNews Organization for a film viewing and a seminar on women's issues. Upon arriving I did not know what to expect. The staff at the organization treated me as if they knew me for a lifetime. They were extremely professional and their concern on women's issues is phenomenal. What I love most about the organization is - they know how important it is for our voices to be heard in the US and all over the world. I like the fact of women not being ignored. The Women's eNews Organization brings us to the forefront!

The seminar was also wonderful - the knowledge shared that day is invaluable - it gave detailed facts and helped me look at the bigger picuture. No other organization has ever done such a great job.

Without a doubt, Women's eNews deserves the highest respect for the love and passion that is shown in the work they do.

I have been reading womenews I think it started so its been quite a few years. I am so glad this organization exists because it focuses on stories affecting women. I am also glad the news now incorporates more coverage of Third World countries and has more women of color correspondents.

I get it via email and can refer to the actual website when I want to read more or other stories.

It does a great service to women and men by highlighting and reporting angles which may have been overlooked in the mainstream media.

It was a great step forward for communication for and by women when Rita decided to embark on this wonderful effort!

Women's eNews provides news stories concerning women's issues, not just locally, but from all around the world. It is a vital, necessary and integral part of our community, as they cover specific topics of importance to women -- stories which may not be given priority in other media outlets.

Even in this twenty-first century as women continue to break gender barriers and glass ceilings, in the mass media they are still too often under-represented, marginalized, stereotyped or objectified. That's why Women's eNews provides such a valuable service in presenting the stories of, for, and by women from around the world that show the breadth, depth, and diversity of womankind. The daily email story from them can be informative, disturbing, moving, and/or inspirational. It's one of the few must-read organizational emails of the many I receive. They also are savvy enough to provide occasional comic relief (and prove that women DO have a sense of humor) through the cartoons of Nicole Hollander and Liza Donnelly.

I share Women's eNews stories often with my classmates from an international Gender and Peace Building program, with family members, and with friends on email and social networks. If every reader of this service does the same, who knows what the cumulative ripple effect could be? Perhaps that the next generation of media makers will treat women more equitably.

I belong to Business and Professional Women's organization (BPW) who's mission is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. Our National Foundation issues, and state and local Legislative Platforms are key to the work of BPW. I' ve utilized Women's ENews articles and relied on it for information that helps us promote our issues and educate members, the community and in some cases our legislators about issues that we support and lobby for. It keeps me abreast of the latest news that affects women's issues and women's lives.

Women's e-News provides me with important and reliable information that I otherwise would not have access to. Its format, as a brief daily email, works well in my busy life. I appreciate learning about the lives of women in other parts of the world as well as reading about what is going on closer to home. Women's e-News shines a light on vital issues that often are not getting the attention they deserve.

Women's eNews gets to the heart of what matters, to me and to the world. Trying to find the information from this wonderful resource in the daily news columns, or on television broadcasts, is effortful, and usually fruitless.
The rampant abuse, rape, disfigurement, burnings, and murders of women and girls throughout the world occurs daily but is seemingly taken for granted and not reported on. It will stop when more and more people learn of it and attend to it. Constant attention by the media, though it would be repetitive, like the daily reporting of the price of gasoline at the pump or other economic issues, will produce a sense of urgency and eventual results.
Were it not for the persistence of these stories in Women's eNews they would likely be unknown by men (other than those who are committing the atrocities.
The hope for our world, it seems obvious, lies in the empowerment of women. The men, like myself, have made a bloody mess of things.
I thank Women's eNews for their substantial part in helping to improve life for women, girls, men and boys, and all beings.

Women's E-News is the first email I read of the day. The information is concise, accurate, and relevant.

It's great because it isn't just about what is happening in the US, but includes articles about what is going on internationally.

The point of view is honest, unbiased, yet compassionate.

Womensenews is a critical voice in the chatter of today's infotainment.
It is increasing difficult to separate out the intelligent commentary from the slanted/ politically motivated commentary. It is important to search for that news that gives a voice to our story, the women's story. as an example - the demonstration/revolution in Egypt was not just the man's story. It is a story of women who found their power and joined the demonstrations in Tahrir Square.
I look forward to the perspective shared by women around the world and no place gives that to me as clearly as Womensenews with their 300 stringers around the world.
The women's movement needs the voice of other women, through our lens, not the viewpoint of a man, about women's issues. So, in my view, the presence of Womensenews assures that our perspective is considered, and that - literally - we have a seat at the table - when issues are being decided.
That is critically important to reveal what mainstream media is not sharing. So, this is about my story - developing my voice and learning about my power to influence the world around me, requires that I see role models, who look like me and are not afraid to speak their minds.
