Women Empowered (WE) is incredible, vibrant, and thriving! Shelly started the group as a simple get-together but she has developed it into a solid non-profit that truly adds value to the lives of its members, volunteers, mentees, and anyone who gets involved in any way. I have known about this group for about 3 months, and already have a mentee, an inspiring network of women, a solid sense of women's success, and tons of outlets for giving back to the community. This is a dynamic group of women- all ages, backgrounds, economic status, careers, etc. I love it! The group is personable, engaging, and very interested in seeing women grow and develop professionally, personally, and socially. WE hosts entrepreneurship events, mentor/mentee events, fundraising events, health and fitness events, and a book club! All great things rolled into one group. I am so glad I met Shelly and am now an official WE member. Thank you
What feels more like home than making gingerbread houses together with our friends and sisters? Gingerbread House Making is one of the many thoughtful and creative workshops that WE has coordinated for the homeless and low-income women in the Skid Row community. WE has volunteered with us at the Downtown Women's Center on several occasions and always brings strong organization and creativity to their volunteer experience. The women that we serve really appreciate the resources and love that WE puts into each workshop that they plan for the women at our Center. We look forward to the Beauty Day that they are planning for us in June, and to many more enriching workshops with Women Empowered!
Thank you, Nicole! WE love spending time with the ladies of the Downtown Women's Center and do anything we can to bring a smile to their beautiful faces. Again, thank you for the support!
Women Empowered (WE) brings together professional, inspiring women to serve the community in a meaningful way. They have reached out to my organization, Girls Today Women Tomorrow, on many occasions offering a variety of engaging workshops and fun events for the girls in our program at no cost. Our participants are low-income, at-risk young ladies and the women of WE have volunteered countless weekends to spend time mentoring the girls. They have put on Belly Dancing classes, taken the girls hiking, and organized large group outings to a Lakers game and an LA Kings game. Our program is just one of many recipients of the WE women's service. I am impressed by their dedication to the community and grateful for the example of service they set for the young ladies in our program.
Thank you, Molly! We love spending time with the girls and look forward to developing our relationship with GTWT even more!
