weSPARK is a magical place where individuals and families can come and navigate their uncertain cancer journeys. It's like they hold your hand during your initial cancer diagnosis, during treatment and post treatment.
I, myself don't have cancer or know anyone in my life who does. I donate in Valerie Harper's name. I like the services weSpark provides. As a bonus, it's run by Nancy Allen who is also a hero of mine. It makes me feel good to help someone who needs it. If I can help make a difference on another persons' life, that makes me feel good. So good luck to Nancy and all her staff at weSpark.
weSpark is such a great organization! I first heard about them from my cousin, who had cancer. She encouraged a lot of our family to join her on their yearly walk-a-thon. She said that weSpark helped her so much that she believed they literally extended her life; they helped keep her positive through an extremely difficult time. I know how many people they are helping and I thank them for being there for all of them.
WeSpark was so vitally helpful to my cousin while she went through her three years with cancer, fighting for her life. The organization gave her hope with their good work. And, with hope, miracles can happen. Although she didn't survive past the three years, she was so grateful to those at WeSpark who help her through that time. Thank You, WeSpark!
weSPARK Cancer Support Center is one of a kind. I personally knew the founder and the reason for the very existence of weSPARK was her personal desire to have a place for cancer patients, their families and friends to go for non-medical support. They have everything from support groups to art classes for children. It's a positive, uplifting place where you are surrounded by people who understand the time you are living through. I recommend weSPARK to people on almost a daily basis. An incredibly deserving non-profit. Please support weSPARK Cancer Support Center. Sincerely, Barbara Epstein
I have been working with weSPARK Cancer Support Center since the beginning. For anyone who is on the journey with cancer, post cancer or whose family is traveling that road with them, we SPARK is the place to go. Varied and helpful programs await, and a warm, experienced staff to help guide them. LA doesn't have any other place like it. I'm thrilled to have been a part of and continue to be to this day. Their founder was a close, close personal friend, and she would be happy and proud that this is her legacy.~ Barbara Epstein
I live in northern California, and have been involved with weSPARK for the past several years. I am impressed with the organization.....so much so that I have attended several local southern California events, as well as the 2011 WE trip to Honduras to visit the Adelante Foundation and its clients. I plan to continue to stay involved, and strongly believe in its mission. Thank you, Wendy Haydon
We Spark gave love and support to my friend Frank, Frank was a good friend and we miss him terribly, but I want to thank We Spark for making the time he had left easier for him and his wife.
Having the race course around Balboa park in Encino was a great idea. That location is very scenic. The people I knew who participated had a great time and were happy to support such a great cause. I wish WeSPARK all the best and plan to participate in future events and volunteer opportunities.
I lost my uncle last year to cancer; so, when I got to learn about WeSpark at the LA Roadrunenrs Charity Day Fair for the LA Marathon, I was so interested. They are doing wonderful work for people and their families facing such hardship.
My sister was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago. WeSpark gave her the support she truly needed and appreciated. She was given free wigs for her bald head, she took tai chi classes, got free Reiki treatments, went to support groups with other cancer patients. She loved WeSpark from the beginning. And now that her health is failing, she still will spark up at the name of WeSpark because of the tremendous love and support she got there.
WeSPARK does a wonderful job for cancer patients. We must thank this organization so much for improving people's lives and outlook.
I provided entertainment services for two of the We Spark Events. The people that attended (recipients of services from the organization) were most thankful to the organization and told me of the life changing activities provided by We Spark. A most positive and upbeat crowd thankful for the organization. It doesn't get any better. Regards, Paul Green
Hi, I am an entertainer and I have participated in a number of the fundraising events for WeSpark. This is a wonderful organization and many of the attendees of the events speak highly of the support they receive from WeSpark. I lend my talents to only a few select organizations--WeSpark is definately one of them.
WeSPARK is a caring, loving, wonderful support organization for people battling cancer. The volunteers and supporters are first rate, and the gratitude their care generates is heartfelt and palpable. All charity groups could benefit by observing WeSPARK.
I was fortunate to meet Wendi Jo many years ago when Wespark was getting off the ground.I have personally watched as Wepark grew. Always thru hard work and dedication of its volunteers and members. They do so much with so little and fill a huge void. They know more about there issue than most. This is due to most of there staff being personally involved in there issue. I donate to WeSpark every year becasue I know that every dollar goes to helping people, not like alot of other big foundations.
wespark is an AMAZING place, filled with amazing people doing amazing services for peeple dealing with not such an amazing thing: cancer.
I feel WeSpark has provided a valuable and necessary outlet and support environment for both patient's and family members to be able to cope with the situation at hand. Everyone there is warm and attentive to the needs of the people it is serving.
Two of my friends who underwent the terribly traumatic experience of having breast cancer turned to weSpark in search of a dedicated and caring support group. They spoke so highly of the organization that I felt compelled to become a donor. I've also had the opportunity to attend several tai chi classes held there. Seeing those survivors participating in the class and sharing it with them brings a whole new meaning to the words hope and peace. It is indeed a privilege to be part of such a meaningful organization!
We Spark offers a unique environment for patients and their families who are suffering with cancer. They give people a place to go where they can garner support and advice. Sherman Oaks is very lucky to have this center.
I am fortunate to have had the honor of supporting this organization from its inception, and blessed to never have had to access the remarkable benefits of its staff and services. As a member of the community I believe that weSPARK is the essence of providing the right support to the most basic needs of people faced with these challenges, and that is compassion and the tools to be a warrior in their own lives. As an artist it is always my honor to support in my own small way by giving of my work and I will continue to do so.
WeSPARK is a tremendous organization with heart. They have helped so many families dealing with cancer. Their activities and support groups are invaluable to the people who need them. I have been a WeSPARK supporter for years. Their contribution to the community has brought awareness and hope to many who had lost faith that the world could be a better place.
When they say "Laughter is the best medicine" it is true. The friends at wespark are what Martin was to Lewis and Hope was to Crosby. They needed each other to bring happiness to people lives. Wespark brings joy to so many. The events they host are all about lifting spirits. It just works!!!!!!!!!!!--kk
