Love it. Love it. Live it. Everyone is helpful and kind. And classes helped me to get through difficult times. Thank you Wespark.
I was lucky in having breast cancer caught early, but even early brings a lot of confusion and worry. The support I received from WeSpark was one of the largest strongholds that I had during that time in my life. It was very comforting knowing that there was somewhere to go (not medically or personally involved with me) when choices and decisions became overwhelming. I strongly support this organization.
We spark our such a supportive community for family members of cancer clients. The classes and services are varied and staff so patient and knowledgeable. Walking into the building feels like you are coming home! Such warmth and kindness from support staff as well! I tell everyone about Wespark!
We Spark! was a lifesaver for me and my children -- great services, wonderful staff, and such a caring refuge.
WeSPARK provides help to all those affected by cancer and it is especially nice if you can consider them local to you. There are many support type organizations but WeSPARK is the only one I have ever seen in the lobby of my oncologist.
WeSpark is one of the most important places I found to help me with my on-going Metastatic Breast Cancer. Reflexology, hypnosis, acupuncture, counseling are the main services they provided me and others like me. All of these things have helped me, more than five years after the recurrence of breast cancer, have the energy and healthy appearance that causes most people to completely doubt I have anything wrong with me. Although my income is small now, I still like to drop money into the giving box to help those who follow me and those who stand beside me in our desire to have a healthy (and fun) life. WeSpark is so important to me I've even taught an art class there for other "Sparkees".
After being diagnosed with Breast Cancer I began to attend weSKARK support groups. It was so important for me to have a place to go to express my fears get support and information. I have 4 young children at home, so I was busy caring for them and trying to keep things as normal as possible for them at home. WeSPARK has a lot of fantastic services for people going through cancer. Unfortunately, with all of the budget cuts, the services stopped in my area and all of the services are now in "the valley" which is too far for me to get to from Santa Clarita. I would love to see them get more funding so every cancer patient could take advantage of all of their wonderful services.
WeSpark helped me in ways I cannot even measure after the death of my loved one. Their grief group for spouses was the only one I could find in the city that met the specific needs of someone who has lost a spouse to cancer, and believe me, it made such a difference. Our counselor remains a friend to this day, and I continue to refer people in need to WeSpark's services. Thank you for all the loving work you do.
I attended WeSpark as a post treatment cancer patient and my experiences there were so healing. It was literally my bridge back to a new sense of myself. I participated in many of the classes, (yoga, creative writing, mindfulness meditation) workshops, seminars, jewelry making evenings and healing energy work there. I felt so embraced in a safe soft harbor and was in such a raw emotional and physical place that I feel it really was the key to my recovery after being thru so much trauma and illness, sadness and fear. I cannot say enough about the loving kindness and the staff at WeSpark. I remember thinking - everyone needs a place like this - not just when you're ill or recovering, but when you're well and strong - imagine a safe harbor that nurtures you from the inside out. It was the safest place I've ever been before - a huge and wonderful gift in my life.
WeSpark was the biggest part of my healing process after my battle w/Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. It was at WESPARK that I was able to come back to my new life post treatment. I was given the opportunity to be with like minded others at such a crucial time in my life - there is no greater healing that to be in a place of compassion and understanding after so much fear, illness and trauma. WeSPark is such a loving comforting place full of creative outlets, creative writing, support groups, workshops, yoga, bio feedback, energy work and so much more. We are so lucky to have a place like this - I can't say enough as to how it enabled me to get thru the hardest part of my life.
WeSpark helped me when no other support group could. I was welcomed with open arms, listened to, encouraged and empowered. I am forever grateful to this wonderful organization and the caring people who run it.
I cannot say enough about this organization. They have helped me come back from horrible grief and helplessness. The therapist, energy workers and all the staff are incredibly kind and loving and only want to help you heal yourself. Don't know what I would do without them. Thanks WeSpark!
I have attended weSPARK groups and this is a great organization. They are very attentive and the work they do is amazing for people with cancer. I am proud to support them and always wish them the best! Their staff is amazing and always kind to everyone they meet, whether they are a cancer patient, a family member or just someone who wants to support their cause.
weSPARK helped me a lot when the doctor told me I had 6 months to live. It's been 3 years and 6 cancers and I'm still here. I showed the doctor I'm strong, people were so understanding. The support groups helped a lot and so did Connie. I talked about my hurts, fears and she showed me that I can live a long time and have a happy life. The staff were great too, so supportive, that's what I needed. I'm fine today thanks to weSPARK.
Great organization! The staff and volunteers are extremely helpful and generous. Support groups are varied for different demographics and extremely helpful as they provide an opportunity for people facing the same issues (both as cancer survivors/patients as well as caregivers) to share information, grief support and advice/guidance regarding many aspects of coping with cancer.
The seminars, workshops and groups range from Tai Chi, yoga, pilates, meditation, jewelry making, creative writing and mahjong. Some of the movement classes are tailored to address physical issues facing cancer patients and survivors. Individual services often include: Reiki, reflexology, and hypnotherapy. All provide acknowledgement and respect towards attendees.
Guess what? They have added a young adults group! This is so wonderful and so important. It would been really nice to have around when I was going through treatment. I am so glad that the organization recognized the need, and helped fill this gap in the young adult cancer community. Now I know I have somewhere I can go to give my support to others who are going though something I have experienced.
WeSpark is a wonderful resource for those who have or have experienced cancer, or those who take care of them. All services are free and take into account the needs of cancer patients: A donation center where clients can drop off or pick up wigs and other personal care supplies, gentle activities to keep the cancer patient engaged and active, such as Yoga, Tai Chi, story writing, jewelry making, etc, support groups for patients and relatives, individual counseling, holistic healing options such as Reiki and Qi Gong, and an extensive library of information on cancer at your fingertips. This place is absolutely wonderful - a caring and calm sanctuary where you can go to be with others in your situation, or try something new. It really helps add some brightness to your life as you are going through cancer treatment. It really gave me a reason to get up and out of bed and out of the house during my chemotherapy!
I have ovarian cancer, reluctant to be in therapy, never done it before. Thought I would be uncomfortable, was the 1st time but made myself go back. It was worth it. I am able to share things that I wouldn't normally share. Feel closeness to the group. We care about each other. Bravo to Lynn.
My heart is so grateful for weSpark. After my cancer diagnosis, weSpark became my home away from home. A truly wonderful organization.
I will keep it simple: weSPARK is doing lifesaving work. When I was diagnosed with cancer last year, I turned to the people of weSPARK. They took me through every step of the process. I walked into weSPARK convinced I was going to die and left weSPARK convinced I was going to live. They offered emotional support. They gave me their time. They gave me their wisdom and expertise. They gave me referrals. They helped me believe in my healthcare provider. Today--knock on wood!--I am cancer free. What a journey. I couldn't have done it without weSPARK. Those aren't just words. I mean it.

As a caregiver, weSpark helped me a great deal by having a support group for caregivers with a very compassionate, trained, experienced leader. The leader of the group and her understanding of my issues was a great comfort. It was also beneficial to be in the company of other caregivers who are dealing with loved ones with Cancer.
