I have been a Board Member and volunteer at weSPARK since its inception. I have had the opportunity to watch it grow and serve an increasing part of the community. Its services have been so well thought of that several hospitals and other institutions have referred their patients and invited weSPARK to provide programs at their locations.
In the last year, weSPARK expanded its reach by offering services on the web. This will make weSPARK an even more valuable part of a much larger community. It will free them from the geographical constraints and allow them and their programs to touch many more lives of cancer patients, their families and friends in the same positive ways.
weSPARK is a unique experience which is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for cancer patients and their families and friends. As a companion to the medical treatment a patient receives, the weSPARK programs are designed to help those affected by cancer to cope with what is probably the scariest experience they have ever had. All of the programs are free because funds are raised and more than 80 cents of every dollar goes to programming.
I know several cancer warriors and survivors that have been helped by weSPARK and their dedicated staff members. They have many programs that most people can't afford or even think of that benefit not only their clients but the families as well.
I volunteered for several events and was hired as a temp for a brief tine. It is a warm comfortable no cost to those in need of support, information and help.
I have recommended weSpark to several of my loved ones that have cancer or that have family or friends dealing with it.
Working with weSPARK over the last year has had an incredible impact on my life. It is a place that promotes community and healing in ways that seem almost magical. It is a beautifully special place.
weSPARK provides a warm, welcoming, nourishing, supportive environment to anyone dealing with cancer including family and friends. An enormous array of services are available at no cost.
I have been involved w/weSPARK for about 8 years -- originally taking advantage of the incredibly supportive services offered through this organization. The people that work here are extremely dedicated and committed to continuing the goals of Wendie Jo Sperber, the founder of weSPARK. I am now a volunteer and am gratified by being able to contribute in a "pay it forward" way. The activities offered here at no cost to the "guests" are physically, psychicly and emotionally advantageous to cancer survivors (including those continuing in treatment and post treatment) and and their families and friends. The atmosphere is supportive and upbeat yet recognizing and serving the needs of individuals.
WeSpark is a safe nurturing place for cancer patients and family
It provides a warm, and enveloping atmosphere for everyone.
There is nothing like it for those who are suffering from cancer!
Like a home atmosphere with beyond amazing services all free!
It's been invaluable to me!
WeSPARK is the warmest most caring charity i have ever seen. They help those who are suffering with cancer and all of their loved ones and caregivers providing free services to all.
I have seen people through the years get the love and support they do not get at the hospital or clinics.
This is a much needed charity, and I love what they stand for.
We Spark is a wonderful resource for people who are battling cancer. It provides support and a forum where people with cancer can get help. It is a great resource center, providing access information for assistance and support services. Everyone is so warm and generous providing a safe and loving environment.
I am a hypnotherapist and guided imagery facilitator. Once a month I volunteer with the children of WeSpark to guide them through journeys that relieve stress, build confidence, and assist in imagining positive bright futures. WeSpark Cancer Support Center provides a wonderful environment for cancer patients, families, and caregivers to receive wonderful, healing, healthful services, free of charge that assist in empowering these people in their journeys.

I have been a volunteer at weSPARK fundraising events for the past 14 years. I am a cancer survivor and am now on the Board of Directors. weSPARK is unique in the fact that we consider holistically the entire family. Not just one member of a family has cancer all of them must live through the experience and the pain. At weSPARK free services that insurance does not pay for is provided to all. The groups are very distinct in the type of cancer or level which you are at. It considers family members that are dealing with a loved one or have lost a loved one. There is no other place as unique as wSPARK. I can emphatically state that weSPARK is a GREAT Non-Profit whose heart is in the right place. I am a much better person for my association as a volunteer and Board of Directors member and I for one am proud of it. weSPARK deserves this recognition as a small community driven entity whose heart is in the right place. I am a much better person for my association as a volunteer.
I began Volunteering for weSPARK 10 years ago. It is an amazing organization unlike any other cancer support center. It combines the healing of mind, spirit and body with holistic and creative support. You find caring persons while proving all the services for FREE in a home like environment. I as a cancer survivor am proud to be associated with this organization.
I was a dear friend of the late Wendie Jo Sperber, the founder of WeSpark, and have volunteered at numerous events for the organization. To see the amazing amount of good that WeSpark does and how it has been able to grow and thrive as the only Cancer Support Center in the entire San Fernando Valley in California is remarkable. She has left a tremendous legacy. I, for one, am glad to have been touched by Wendie Jo, and I am glad to be a part of her work continuing on.
