Mission: Warren Village exists so low income, single parent families can achieve sustainable personal and economic self-sufficiency.

Results: In Fiscal Year 2017, we served 137 families with a total of 221 children. 154 children were provided a quality early education in our Learning Center, 106 children at a time. 51 families exited Warren Village, 41 of which were program graduates (6 did not complete the program, and 4 moved out within the first six months of residency). Of the 41 residents who graduated from Warren Village: 90% found permanent housing, 68% increased their personal competencies (personal empowerment based on value scale indicators), 80% maintained a full-time schedule of education and/or employment, 76% had a positive change in income, and 20% completed an educational or career track program.

Target demographics: low income single parents with 1 - 6 children - 96% of the parents are female.

Direct beneficiaries per year: In the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2017, Warren Village housed 137 families with a total of 221 children and youth.

Geographic areas served: Most cilents are from the Front Range area of Colorado, though we do get families from across the country.

Programs: Warren Village is a "transformational housing" program for low income single parent families. Housing is provided for 92 families through our apartment building located in central Denver. Warren Village Family Advocates (social workers) work with residents to help them develop and enhance personal strengths, gain work-ready skills, and increase educational attainment, supporting residents in their efforts to achieve personal and economic self-sufficiency goals during a two-year stay. While at Warren Village, residents must maintain a full-time schedule of work and/or higher education, as well as attending Warren Village evening life skill courses and volunteering in the community. Warren Village also provides quality on-site early childhood education, using a multi-cultural and gender fair curriculum. The organization works with other nonprofits who wish to replicate our "transformational housing" model. WV has been awarded a number of national awards for their effective work.

Warren Village believes all families should have access to affordable housing, safe and reliable child care, and the skills necessary to lead an independent life. Warren Village provides these services to economically disadvantaged single parent families with love and grace. I have received so much more from these families than I have ever given. The motivation, dedication and service from staff resonates through these families and encourages them to be all they can be. Warren Village makes me so proud!
