Mission: VAANI's vision is to eliminate the most fundamental and overlooked problem with childhood deafness - the inability of the child to communicate with his or her own parent. We believe that every deaf child is entitled to total and complete access to communication, education, protection and equality in all spheres, and information and knowledge to reach his or her full potential as an individual and a member of society with respect and dignity. It is our commitment to create an empathetic and enthusiastic environment for every deaf child, and to empower their families to nurture it.
Our mission is to bring language and comprehension into the lives of deaf children and their families and thus enabling them to have meaningful conversations between themselves and the world around them.

VAANI currently works with local NGOs and some Government bodies on projects in Assam, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Mizoram and West Bengal.
Vaani is one of the most transparent organization in terms of finance and in terms of their works at ground. The committed, qualified and emotional staff makes Vaani to reach to interior pockets and work with deaf children and their families.
Vaani represent one of the finest organisation to work specifically with deaf children. There are many organisation who works with deaf children in various aspects, but get generalist and start doing everything from livelihood to skill development to education and in that the core work of working with deaf children and their empowerment get missed out. Vaani keeps that core area of working specifically with deaf children and various stakeholder's associated with the child ( including their parents, school and community where they live and influencing policy makers for better policies for deaf children better life).
Sangeeta Doloi's review of VAANI:
I feel it is easier for hearing people to learn Sign Language rather than making deaf children learn how to speak. This has not worked out in my son's case and I feel that I wasted a lot of time attempting to make my son speak. After my interaction with VAANI, I have realised that Communication is more important in the development of language than speaking.
