Mission: United Way of Snohomish County is leading community change to improve people's lives in Snohomish County by focusing on the building blocks for a better life: successful kids, financially stable families and healthy communities. Founded in Everett, WA in 1940, our local United Way leads the community by bringing every sector together as a caring force to create change by giving, advocating and volunteering.
Results: Over 3,000 children prepared to start school ready to succeed, 1000 adults trained to help youth; $7 million in tax refunds through free tax preparation for low-income working families, and millions each year in grants to organizations serving all aspects of health and human service needs in North Puget Sound.
Target demographics: Infant, toddlers and preschoolers for school readiness; middle school youth and at-risk teens; low-income families; seniors and those with disabilities; recent immigrants.
