I became involved with Kris Kelly when her foundation helped me rescue an abused dog from the South LA shelter a few years ago. One of things I admire most about Kris is her love for ALL animals and her desire to see them all find loving homes. Many rescues will focus on certain breeds or simply just dogs or cats. Over the years I have witnessed her saving pigs, chickens, rabbits, and the list goes on and on. Whenever I need help I know I can count on Kris to help and that is why we all love her very much!
I can't say enough about the Kris Kelly Foundation. They always go out their way to help animals when others just turn their head, be it medical needs, or abuse situation, or an animal that's been hit by a car . Kris will do what she can , she's not afraid to jump inmake a difference.
Thank you Kris Kelly for all you do, keep up the good work
These folks really helped save my girl from certain by the shelter she was in last year. Dominique, or Nikki for short is my constant companion. I had previously had a shi tzu/peek mix for 14 years and had to have her put to sleep. UGHHHHHHH! Heartbroken. Was without a dog for 2 months and couldn't stand the lack of companionship from an animal. I'm married, but my wife doesn't need her water bowl filled every day... So I look for a dog. Found her in the Downey shelter. Turnd out that she could not be released to the public because of her behavior. Fear was the main issue that was causing her to appear vicious. Love is greater than fear. I loved this dog. My love has grown. But Kris was instrumental in getting her released to me. Many unsure hours but Kris encouraged me to have faith. Around closing time at the shelter she got put in her crate for her trp to Los Feliz. Upon her arrival and the opening of the crate door, I put a piece of chicken jerky between my lips and with no fear got down on my hands an knees and put my face in front of her's and she left the crate to take that faithful step to trust and carefully take the jerky from my lips. Never to return to the crate. A year has passed and we've grown closer. Sleeps with me and still takes treat from my mouth!
I've known kris for years but didn't realize the existent her foundation would go through until a friend of mines mom passed away and he had to take in her pets. I notified kris and not only did she find homes for her senior pets but arranged to pick them up and transport them, a true angel.
I would give Kris my last cent. God bless her and her gentle heart. THANK YOU for all you do that I can't stomach.
I have known Kris for about 10 years, and she is the most generous, tenderhearted, sweet woman I've ever met! Her love of animals is so pure and deeply rooted, I just wish I could give her more for the amazing work she does! THANK YOU KRIS, keep doing great things!
You could say Kris Kelly found me. She had arranged to have a group of Beverly Hills Chihuahua's fly across the country to our small shelter in Maine. Just on a whim I decided to go see what these little critters were all about. Of course when I walk in there is this tiny 6 lb dog barking at all the other bigger dogs but kissing my hand through the cage. I had a 7 lb chipin who I thought needed a playmate her size, We also have a 82 lb German shorthaired pointer and a 90 lb Weimeraner. After a meet and greet "Sonny" came home with us. Long story short, I posted pics of him to our shelter facebook page and Kris friended me when she saw them. I had adopted Richard Burton! Each dog had a movie stars name. She and I have kept in touch on FB and I help her by sharing the rescues. Even though I live in Maine, I have friends in Calif and you never know who might know someone etc etc. Kris is by far one of the few true angels of the animals and she puts her heart and soul into saving as many as she possibly can. Without her I would not have gotten this most loving, sweet little guardian now known as Schmitty. Thank you Kris, we love you
I became involved with The Kris Kelly foundation through a little dog named Lucky. He was due to be euthanized until Kris Kelly stepped in and saved his life. Through mutual volunteers, Kris and I were introduced and she asked if I would help foster this little guy until she found him a good home. Well... let's just say within the first moments of meeting him, I knew he was my Lucky dog! And here we are six years later!
Kris is an amazing woman and her passion for helping animals is unprecedented. I am truly grateful to her for all that she has done not only for Lucky but, for countless others. She is an extremely positive influence in my life and I know, she will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of animal rescue for many years to come.
The Kris Kelly Foundation is an amazing resource to the rescue community. This is her passion in life, not a hobby and she loves what she does. The help and resources that she and her network of non-profit's provide is amazing. I am greatful to her not only as a friend, but as a client. She was there for me in my time of need and Gigi is now a proud member of the Kris Kelly Foundation.
I met Kris because we had the same breed of dog. I then went on to adopt our second dog from her foundation. She is amazing and cares about her animals and placing them in a good, loving home. Kris Kelly is amazing ...we will forever be friends.
Thank you Kris Kelly Foundation for rescuing the shar-pei mix that is now fully part of our lives. Kris Kelly Foundation has turned our house into a home. We are madly in love with our guy. Thank Kris Kelly Foundation.
I have worked with Kris Kelly foundation. Her foundation is one of the most prodigious and bountiful, truthful, organizations you will find in Animal services, Animal rescues, Homeless sheltering, anywhere, for care of these beautiful creatures. Chris Kelly Foundation extensive outreach programs and diversity is key. This is one of the few organizations that lives up to the universal slogan "We do the best we possibly can"
I have adopted two animal companions from the Kris Kelly Foundation and couldn't be happier with the assistance that Kris has offered each time. My first adoption was an eight-year-old Pug mix (Puggy), and Kris brought her to my home, along with all the records, and got her settled in. Puggy passed away last year when she was about 14 years old. I've stayed in touch with Kris, who has become a friend, and saw that she had taken in a partially blind black kitten last year. I was smitten and expressed my interest in the kitten to Kris. The kitten required eye surgery, which Kris felt should be done prior to an adoption. After the surgery and convalescence, I adopted Onyx. Once again, Kris brought her to my home with all the records and helped settle her in. Onyx has become a treasured part of the family. Kris is the most caring, big-hearted woman I know. She will drop anything when an animal is in need or someone needs help with a rescue. I have, and will continue, to support the Kris Kelly Foundation.
Kris Kelly recently helped me with an abandoned injured cat in my neighborhood. When I asked for help, she immediately started to network him. Thanks to Kris Kelly and her friend, his treatment is paid for and TKKF has potential fosters for him.
I am amazed at the time and effort she gives to save and rehome abandoned pets.
I met Kris when forming the TKKF was still a dream of hers. She is passionate about helping find good homes for these much deserving homeless and abused animals. Four years after my little Molly died, I rescued sweet Nicky and I have never had a smarter or more devoted dog. Kris took such care in making sure we were a good match! She is kind and committed.
These are the people to go thru if you want to adopt a pet. They are incredibly compassionate and caring...and accessible! They are "on top of things." There was never any significant time lapse from when I would email or call, and when they got back to me. I was impressed, too, by how knowledgeable Kris is about medical issues. I was able to see that she has really been immersed in the animals and their issues...and their care. Sara, Kris' sister-in-law, is also very involved, and is so sweet and caring. She helped me when I went to pick up my beloved Barney (beagle/coon hound mix) at the shelter, and her joy upon seeing him was very touching. She sees these animals all the time, but she couldn't stop photographing him and exclaiming how adorable he was. Each animal matters to these people. Every animal is worth the good fight...no exceptions.
Please support Kris and her volunteers. I only wish I lived closer because I would love to work with them! I don't want to be enonymous. My name is Sally Tanner, and I trust in the Kris Kelly Foundation completely.
I have known Kris for over 15 years and she is an amazing woman with such a passion for helping animals. She recently went above and beyond to help me find a no kill shelter that would take in a Bichon a friend of mine found wondering the streets. The puppy now has a happy home and Kris and her foundation came through when no one else would :) She is a true angel.
Giving a voice to animals and fighting for animal rights is a never-ending battle that needs compassion, hard work, patience and strong people. Kris Kelly and everyone involved with The Kris Kelly Foundation never cease to amaze me with their incredible kindness and generosity towards animals and the progression of animal rights. Kris Kelly not only strives to save animals in shelters, she fights for laws and petitions in favor of animal rights, she does anything in her humanly power to help the voiceless, from adoptions to fundraisers to social networking. Her hope and hard work for a better future for animals is contagious. I am so thankful there are people like Kris Kelly and organizations like the The Kris Kelly Foundation. She saves animals, and animals in turn, change our lives and help us find our soul. Thank you Kris, for changing the lives of so many animals and people every single day.
I am so very appreciative for The Kris Kelly Foundation. I adopted two animals, a dog and a cat from the foundation. Being new at wanting pets on my own, Kris and her foundation helped educate me and set me up with the proper pets that fit my lifestyle. I love my pets. They are my family.
After 6 years with owning the pets, Kris still checks in with me to see how they are doing.
I met Kris Kelly after adopting my dog Bambi from a different rescue orginization. I didn't know it when I adopted Bambi but she was very, very sick and 36 hours after taking her home I had to rush her to century Vet where she had to spend 3 weeks under constant care.Miraculously the vet was able to save her life - sadly I did not have the money to pay the bill. And that is where Kris stepped in. She didn't know me or the dog, only that it was unjust what had happened. She was outraged that a rescuer would knowinglyput a deathly ill dog up for adoption and she offered to help me with the bills. It was 2009 and the recession was hitting hard, I had lost my job and there was no way I could pay the bills myself so I gratefully accepted this "earth angel's" help. I was blown away by how much she truly cares about animals. In the years since I have kept in touch and helped out when I can. I would highly reccomend Kris andher foundation because I know without a shadow of a doubt how tirelessly she works to save animals. Every single cent that she raises - as well as lots of her own money - goes directly to rescue. THANK YOU Kris!!! I will always be grateful to you for stepping in and helping us! I can't imagine life without Bambi and without the help of the Kris Kelly Foundation I would not have my best friend!
Great experience!. We adopted a dog from The Kris Kelly Foundation and couldn't have been happier. Ms Kelly was kind, knowledgeable, and almost as excited as we were about getting our dog. They have an intense commitment to the animals, and for and owners, and making sure the pet is going to the right place and will be taken care of for life.
TKKF is ran by Kris Kelly who is amazingly passionate toward animal rescue--making extreme efforts to save those who have been neglected, lost, sick, or in need of new homes. I was fortunate enough to come across a posting almost a year ago...and ended up adopting a sweet rescue dog who had apparently been neglected. Due to the efforts of the the woman who found her and turned her over to TKKF, we are so blessed to be able to give our sweet girl a forever home and care for her! Kris gives 100% of herself toward changing the lives of animals AND people, educating others on how important adoption is. Her efforts are commendable and we are so fortunate to know her!! Thank you Kris!
