We started our autism journey with our first child at his 18 month well visit. We were not only fumbling through all the new that comes with being first time parents, but now we were navigating off road territory not covered in the parenting books. Family and friends with the best of intentions did what they could but really had no understanding of what we were walking through. This was an isolating and lonely start to parenting and the autism journey. We knew no one else walking this path. TACA was our gateway to connection with other families as well as research, practical information, help and hope from other families who were farther along on this journey. I'll never forget the life-giving feeling of being in a room at the conference surrounded by so many others who get it. TACA has given us the help and hope needed to help our child be the very best version of himself.

Have you ever had that moment when you’ve found your tribe? That is what TACA has been to our family through online resources, parent mentors, local coffee talks, and incredible conferences bringing the best minds and hearts under one roof for education and connection. The thing I hear most from parents is how isolating this journey can be. TACA, more than any other resource breathes life back into families and creates community on this path. I’m honored to share our Journey Guide resource at Coffee Talks and even more blessed by the leadership of TACA.
There is a lot of inconsistency in terms of advice as there are a lot of parent volunteers. Also, the organization mostly caters to low functioning autistic children with comorbidities. Not relatable.
TACA helps us tremendously, we can always find up-to-date scientific studies, amazing TACA team always provides various resources to train and support families. So grateful to be a part of this community.

TACA is a great resource for parents and anyone who needs a roadmap to navigate in their world, to identify& plan for potentials, all possibilities. It is amazing how much knowledge you could get , you can get up to date scientific articles, connect with experts through TACA and change & implement in your life and beloved ones’. I am so grateful to be able have TACA’s help.
My TACA family is always there to give support during the times that I feel as if I can’t do this anymore. On bad days they have been there to encourage me and help me over the hurdles. Autism is a lonely place and my fellow TACA moms make it not so lonely.
I found TACA when my daugther was 5 years old She was non verbal, cried a lot , walked on tipy toes, spin her toys and herself, did not respond to her name, no eye contact ..etc. Her doctors said it was a severe case also that all her symptoms were associated with ASD and the only thing we could do was taking her to regular therapies for kids with these kind diagnosis. TACA provided me with so much education about her diagnosis I signed up for a mentor I found out that she had underlying medical issues that were treatable. I decided to go to the National Conferences in California I found so much HOPE education, inspiration and friendship from other parents that I decided to volunteer as a Mentor. Biomedical interventions help finding answers for my daughters path to recovery.. She started to be verbal when she was 7, She is very aware of her surroundings, she is not in pain anymore, she likes to make friends and enjoy their company. She is very happy. She is 10 now .We know we need to be prepared for puberty and all years to come but we are not scared like before , We are not alone. We have found TACA and will be forever GRATEFUL. Truly love TACA
Taca is the most comprehensive and useful autism source. Rather than just support groups it provides resources and answers and hope for families
I thought I knew about Autism because I was a special ed teacher and an ABA therapist. However, when I became a mother of a child with autism, it was a new level of Autism that I needed to research, learn, apply, grieve, and accept. I remembered going to a TACA conference once when I was a special ed teacher, so I looked up TACA and found that there is a chapter in my state. I applied for mentorship program, and when the mentor connected with me, a whole new world opened up about biomedical interventions, which I did not consider much as a teacher. It was the encouragements from other TACA moms, mentors, webinars, and FB forum that helped me to keep on research, and not lose hope. My daughter has made a HUGE progress in the last 2 years, so much that many people do not know that she is on the spectrum. I love sharing with other parents about our journey so that they can be encouraged and have hope as my TACA mentor moms have shared with me. I am forever thankful for selfless volunteer moms who mentor me, admins the FB forum, share the webinars, etc. because they have changed our lives as a family.

TACA mentors have shared their time with me to explain about the state sponsored health insurance for my daughter with ASD, and now she has two insurances to cover 100% of her medical bills, including ABA, OT, PT, and play therapy. TACA mentor has helped me to understand about MAPS doctors, and I have seen my daughter improve in her health with a HUGE POSITIVE CHANGES that makes all other therapies much more successful. Their moral support, the information resources, and stories filled with hope gives me hope for our family and I can’t help but to share this organization to other parents with children with ASD and pay it forward by volunteering to share resources, support, and hope with other parents.
Our journey with Autism began with our son's diagnosis over twenty five years ago. We as a family, and our son as an individual living with Autism, would never be where we are today without the support of TACA. The Journey Guides have been a road map for us to follow as our son progressed across the spectrum from very significantly impacted to now a very staunch advocate for his rights and those of others with disabilities. He's surpassed our expectations and even reached many of his own dreams. That could never have transpired without TACA's support and that of the organization and its amazing volunteers. As a result, Carolyn has become a volunteer mentor and state Co-Coordinator assisting families as we once was were due to the gratitude felt by our family to this amazing organization. We know too we will always have support, a shoulder if needed, the information needed to assist both our son and family, but most importantly the hope we need daily.
Thank you TACA and all who have support us, this organization, individuals with ASD and their families and communities.

Our son was diagnosed with severe autism as a child. We were given no hope or direction from medical professionals who told us to concentrate on our other son because we’d most likely have to institutionalize him prior to the age of two.
Thankfully we didn’t listen and found TACA. Families supporting families have assisted us to not only suppprt our son with autism, but our entire family.
Hope is a powerful verb and it worjs! Thank you TACA for all you’ve done and to all of the staff and so many volunteers who give of themselves daily, much appreciation!
❤️
Long before I ever volunteered for TACA, I received help from TACA. It is overwhelming to have a child diagnosed with autism. There are so many things to learn. What drew me to TACA is that they provide real help with all areas pertaining to Autism. Diet, medical, school, therapies, etc. It was, and still is, the best way to get help from knowledgeable people who "get it."
TACA was there when I needed an emotional life raft. When you find out your child is ill, finding yourself amidst mothers and families who have been there is a huge blessing. These women lifted me up and helped me find my feet again. They love my children as their own. They host monthly coffee talks where we check in and help each other on the journey. I now volunteer with TACA to be that resting place for other mothers. It’s a wonderful, love driven nonprofit.
When every physician we met with said there was no hope for our children, TACA stood up and said that there was!! I am beyond grateful that we found TACA and didn’t listen to the others! Our boys are thriving because of the support, education and community that TACA offers! We are #TACAstrong
TACA has been a lifeline for me since I first stepped foot in a Coffee Talk. I received a free journey guide and began friendships that will last a lifetime! My son has made tremendous gains and now I volunteer to help others navigate life with autism.
TACA is an incredible organization offering families living with autism hope, information, and support! I am eternally grateful to have come across it over 10yrs ago! My 15yo son no longer qualifies for the diagnosis of Autism, and my 14yo has come incredibly far - because of the information and support I've gained from TACA. Forever thankful, and HOPEFUL

I found TACA in 2007, while desperately looking for answers on how to help my then 4 year old. I have learned all I have and my son has come as far as he has because of TACA and their volunteers. I joined TACA as a volunteer parent mentor because I want others to get from TACA what I did and continue to do. My son, who is now 8 years old, no longer meets the criteria for autism. He is completely age appropriate socially and in all areas of speech. He would not be there without the support and information I learned from the many angels I met at and through TACA.
Since the last 9 NINE YEARS TACA has given my family HOPE and Never giving up! The wealth of information like no other autism organization has given support and knowledge to my family so I use the tools to help my boys achieve the impossible in their life and especially a better quality of
Life!
Even in Spanish support!!!
I have been volunteering to pay it forward

I have been with TACA since 2010! Volunteering as much as I could since, my boys wouldn’t ever engage with me of my husband. As if they had no soul in their eyes. Trapped in their own body. Today we have better days than bad days thanks for TACA. 8 years later going strong! I know give back nexus their is #HOPE for everyone!❤️
According to doctors, our son was now just a diagnosis on a piece of paper with a long list of nevers. He’ll never speak, never say I love you, never read or write, and he’ll never integrate in school. TACA was the first resource I found when searching for hope and they have proven to be the most valuable in the 9 years since that diagnosis. Our son is speaking, reading, has friends now, and has a life we were told was impossible. This is what TACA does. They show up for parents with meaningful resources like in person meetings, mentors, and guides to help you navigate and demystify autism. They saved our family and we work every day to pay that forward, because it was a priceless gift that no donation I make could ever repay. TACA is simply the best and because of them, more families will get the chance to beat the odds and have hope.
While our autism families are wildly different, a lot of us have similar stories that have found TACA. Birds of a feather, as they say. TACA has been a beacon of light when I felt I was in darkness. It is an organization for my family that gives me options, solutions and most importantly HOPE! TACA really came into my life when I needed it the most. I am consistently impressed and INSPIRED by the parents I meet in coffee talks and in seminars. TACA is my tribe. ❤️❤️ -Olga
TACA was the first organization that gave my family the guidance we needed after my son was diagnosed. I am now a volunteer for TACA. This organization is amazing! You’re never alone on this journey with TACA!
The Autism Community in Action is the most selfless, helpful, passionate, giving organization I've ever known. The great majority of their leaders are 100 percent volunteers, just trying to share what they've learned the hard way, to help others have an easier path and help all children thrive to their fullest potential! A very worthy and inspiring organization!

TACA is a truly selfless organization. It's Families helping Families. Nothing to be gained but to see other families thrive and improve. The goal grew out of families affected by Autism wanting to share, to help one another do the best for themselves and affected family or friends that they can. As it's grown, that goal has not changed, but the power and reach of TACA has! I LOVE this organization and am proud to volunteer as part of it. Every week, if not every day, I see people helped as part of this great organization!
TACA has been an invaluable resource for our family in finding solutions and information for my child!
TACA was the first organization that truly helped guide our family and give us endless hope and support after our sons autism diagnosis over a decade ago. I currently proudly volunteer for TACA and support families in my county. TACA is changing families lives for the better everyday
TACA saved my son’s life!!! I cannot thank you enough for helping me bring my son back!! I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ TACA!!!
TACA has absolutely changed my whole family for the better. When my son was diagnosed with Autism, a friend told me that I had to go to a TACA meeting. Before that, I was lost and alone. Once I got there, I was lifted up by a community of other autism parents who could guide me with their "been there/done that" expertise that has made our journey so much easier. TACA gave me the resources and confidence to help my son deal with his medical issues and educational struggles. He is doing so much better and I owe it all to TACA!

My son was diagnosed with autism in 2008 at age 2. After the diagnosis, my husband and I felt completely overwhelmed and alone. It wasn't until a TACA mom spotted us at a birthday party and asked if our child had a diagnosis. She lead us to our first TACA coffee talk. From that moment on, we were not alone. We had support, we had guidance and we had a plan. At the first meeting, I was giving a magnificent Journey Guide which I still rely on to this day. It was filled with information on all things about treating autism. And even better, I have a community of families who have been through the same things we are going through. I have monthly Coffee Talks and meetings, as well as a nationwide community through TACA's yahoo groups. Whenever I have a questions, I just e-mail it to the group and by the end of the day, I have an answer from someone who has the answer. Without TACA, my child simply wouldn't have made the gains he has. He has gone from a non-verbal, uncommunicative toddler without eye contact and with serious behavior issues to an incredibly verbal, smart, funny and loving boy who amazes us every day. TACA guided us to the best traditional therapies and providers for us, the GFCFSF diet (which was the first step in his recovery) to other biomedical treatments. We were lucky to receive one of TACA's scholarships to see a MAPS/DAN! doctor. Now we have a traditional and biomedical protocol that is actually healing our son. Thanks to TACA and doctor advice, we started B12 shots for our son on January 1, 2012 (almost a year ago). At that point he had simple 5 word sentences and limited eye contact. The morning after the first shot when we came into his bedroom, he looked us straight in the eye and said, "Good morning Mommy and Daddy. I'm playing with my Harry Potter legos. Would you like to join me? It's lots of fun!" We were speechless. And we are grateful. And now I am a TACA mentor. I want to share this information that only families with Autism have acquired. Thank you TACA! TACA is the best thing that has happened to us since Autism!
I love how TACA has amazing resources to help inform and support families affected by Autism. The fact that they have a growing number of chapters throughout the US, means they are supporting these same families on the local community level!
I am a volunteer for TACA and I'm happy that I can help mentor families through the early stages of diagnosis and finding community and state resources that they NEED to help their child(ren). What a great benefit to the autism community!
We have been on the autism journey with our son for over 9 years now. Before TACA we felt isolated, overwhelmed and desperately needed friendship, support and useful information to help us with our son. We found this and more with TACA. TACA's mentor program got us connected and we haven't looked back since then. That was when our son was just about 3. He is almost 12 now. Thank you TACA.

When my son was diagnosed at 2 1/2 we were devasted and trying to cope as well as we could as there were 2 other girls in our family that were 6 and 8 at the time and they needed us to. We needed emotional, medical, nutritional help and more and TACA helped us with all of that. I am now proudly a TACA mentor and do my best to help guide new families on this journey the way my mentor did 6 years ago. Thanks TACA
What I love about TACA, (besides everything) is the community, love, and respect among the volunteers. Never have I seen such a great group of people who truly love each other, love what they do, and believe in what they do. They are truly a very devoted clan of families whose only mission is help other families with children diagnosed with autism.
I love being a volunteer for TACA and helping families because without TACA, my family--especially my son would not be where he is today. 6 years ago my son was non-verbal, have severe behaviors, eloped, and had extreme difficulty communicating. My TACA mentor (and a mother I adore and love to this day), helped me get the help and resources I needed to help my son. She introduced me to TACA and 5 years later I still enjoy volunteering and learning how I can further help my son and others. Autism is hard but my son works harder everyday and I will never give up hope for him. I love that once you find TACA, you are never alone..because it's true. I have made lifelong friends and truly amazing women who look up to and adore!! I love TACA!
TACA changed our live, we were lost after my son ASD diagnosis 4 years ago, two months later I attended the first meeting of TACA Texas chapter and I got the best information ever, I got a plan and hope, it was eye opening, I was going to help my kid with better tools than just therapy. So far my son have been progressing everyday he came from being moderate on the spectrum to be able to start Kindergarten in General Education full time with minimum support. I have been volunteering for TACA for 3 years now and I think my passion is to help parents that are starting on this journey as I know the impact those TACA ladies made in our family and in my son's live. THANK YOU TACA
TACA was there to offer hope and I so appreciate that the website has so much information for easy access but the real lifeline is being able to have a mentor who has been through this all already and being able to be with other parents wanting to have action and steps to take to help their child to be the best that they can be.
Thank you, TACA, and I can't tell you how many people I have helped by sending them the link to your diet page.

I have been a volunteer with TACA for over 10 years and am so impressed at the level of help they offer to families and at how well everything is organized. I get to show up and know what I am doing and where I am supposed to be. The support both in front and behind the scenes is phenomenal.
Thank you TACA for being Real Help Now for so many.
TACA is amazing. Truly the best resource for families with autism. I volunteer for TACA because TACA has helped my own family so much and I am honored to pay it forward and do whatever I can to contribute to this extraordinary organization. TACA provides more direct help to families with autism than any other autism organization. When you join TACA you don't just get help, resources, and support. You get a new family.
Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) is an AWESOME organization! They have changed my family's life tremondously. The BEST place we found for helping my child years ago and now I am a volunteer helping so many other families.
As a Volunteer serving and helping families added by autism. Gives them so much hope and to never give up. TACA has helped my family tremendously and it helped my boys as well. Thank you TACA for all that you do.

I volunteer for TACA! Most caring parents and coordinators have and are still helping me with my own Journey to heal my two autistic boys. I pay it forward by doing the same and empowering parents, by giving them tools to succeed.
To say that TACA is amazing is an understatement. They have helped our family with so much over the past 8 years since our son was first diagnosed with autism. The autism journey is very confusing and overwhelming, but TACA has taught us how to navigate through it all. With the help and guidance that they have given us, our family has learned how to advocate for our son to get him the services/treatments that he needs in order to be healthy and succeed in life - he is doing very well now thanks to them. Our family loves and appreciates TACA so much that we decided to become volunteers for them. They are a fantastic organization and we feel very fortunate to have found them.
TACA teaches families that the window never closes, and whether your child is 2 or 22, hope remains. With TACA, I have a community of people that not only say "me too", but "I'm here to help you"; not merely spreading awareness, but setting an example with action--inspiring others to do the same. The autism community is fortunate to have such an amazing and truly caring organization. Thank you.
Thanks to TACA we got the help and support we so desperately needed for our family. Without them we wouldn't be where we are today. TACA helped us so much that now I volunteer helping other families just like mine.

Nine years ago they gave us hope that we could help our son. That autism didn't mean his life was over. Today I volunteer for TACA so that I can share and spread that same hope to parents. Parents need to know they are not alone on this journey because support is critical. A parent that is armed with education is a strong advocate parent that can fight for their child. That is what TACA helped me become.
I am a parent who's family has been positively changed because of Taca. From a very affordable or even scholarship conference education to the endless web pages of information on how to help my child. Taca offers free journey guides and webinars by some of the most knowledgeable doctors in the field. Most importantly, taca provided a parent mentor to help me navigate this unbelievably difficult path.

TACA is an incredible organization. The volunteers provide excellent information and also give a sense of community and belonging. Many parents come to TACA after having been shamed elsewhere for wanting to help their child(ren). I know, because I was one of those parents. TACA provided such helpful information to me, that when I was able to, I was excited and grateful to be able to help as a volunteer.
TACA is an amazing organization. I started with them as a parent looking for help for my son and going to their meetings, and now I'm honored to be a mentor to other parents. Lisa Ackerman is a saint and all the work she does is so appreciated to parents like me. Even though we've been on our autism journey for 12+ years, I still use the TACA website as a resource. It's designed well and has gobs and gobs of info!! I cannot speak more highly of TACA!!
Taca is like having a giant extended family with members that understand and help you along each step of your journey. They offer many amazing events each year, along with monthly meetings and coffee talks. The mentor program is also outstanding.
Taca is Not just for newly diagnosed families, but for any/all families living with autism. They really do go above and beyond... I love my TACA family... perhaps a little more than my blood family ;) #realhelprealfamily
TACA has helped thousands of families, and when you think Autism help, the community thinks of TACA. When my child was diagnosed at 2.5 (in 2002), and doing research on how my family can get help, I just kept reading so many parents talking about how TACA directly helps families through so many volunteers. This is the organization that can help guide a family through most everything they need (medical resources, advocacy, school, therapies, etc). The most giving and caring group I have met. My family would be lost without the TACA people we have met.
When my son was diagnosed with autism in 2000 I was mired in grief when the answers for my son's pain were elusive to the medical community. Then I heard about a small group of parents meeting nearby who were helping each other to find the answers for their children. That group was eventually called Talk About Curing Autism. The first thing I learned from this group was that hope is real and that our kids can get better. It was the salve of healing I needed to go find answers for him. A little over two years later my son was declared recovered from autism by his pediatrician. Today he is a junior in high school, on the high honor roll, plays in the band and is on the cross country team. Oh, and we just signed him up for SAT and ACT tests because he is going to college! None of this would have been possible if not for TACA's support. This is why I am still involved as a chapter coordinator and volunteer. The gift of a future for my son is something I will always be grateful for, and seeing other families achieve the same for their child is what it is all about.
I volunteer for TACA because it's the one autism organization that focuses on families and supports families wherever they are in their autism journey. As a volunteer I am able to share our experience to help other families through a very steep learning curve, and in the process I get to continue learning from an amazing community of parents and professionals who share my passion for helping our kids achieve their best quality of life possible.

I remember the first time I was able to attend a TACA meeting. We had been on our journey for a few years already, and it was amazing to be surrounded by other parents who shared my passion for healing and supporting our kids. Raising a child with autism can be so isolating, and TACA helps us connect and stay positive and focused on helping our kids. Being involved with TACA (both as a parent of a child with autism and as a volunteer) has helped my family immeasurably. No other organization focuses on helping families RIGHT NOW the way TACA does. I also really appreciate that TACA isn't focused on just one issue -at TACA, the most important issue in autism is the one that you and your family is struggling with today. It might be IEP and school district challenges. It might be medical concerns (I joke that at TACA meetings we inevitably end up talking about poop and food), it might be conservatoriships or special needs trusts, but the wealth of info on the website and in the Journey Guide is powerful and easy to access. Because of the army of awesome volunteers, TACA reaches many families who otherwise might have no other resource for information and social interaction (TACA picnics and family events are THE BEST!). It's also iportant to note that TACA is fiscally responsible stretching every dollar to help as many families as possible. I'm so grateful to TACA for all they have done for my family, and I'm humbled and proud to be a part of the organization as a volunteer.
I started volunteering for TACA 8 years ago. TACA is the smartest, most dedicated autism organization there is, helping parents find resources, learn advocacy skills and supporting families to get their kids healthy and achieve their true potential.
I am so grateful for TACA. There are very few autism organizations that actually provide real help and family support. My family has personally received mentorship, medical grants, camp scholarships, and more. The meetings provide not only invaluable information from professionals, the support from the other parents and TACA volunteers is unsurpassed. Autism is so lonely and I've made amazing friends through TACA. I am now an active TACA volunteer and parent mentor, but I get so much more than I could ever give back.

This is hands-down the best autism resource for families. It offers so much more than awareness! It is an action plan and gives families a road map for getting their children in the best possible help. There is so much support offered - a personal parent mentor, 24-hour live chat, regular meetings and family events. Most importantly, TACA gives families hope - for treatment, recovery, and a future. I cannot say enough about the value of TACA to families affected by autism.
We found TACA through another autism mom. What a blessing! I spent my days taking my child to various therapies and my nights researching diet, biomedical intervention etc. The hours spent on the internet took time away from my family. TACA has the research right at your fingertips on their website. You also realize that you are not alone in the journey. The best advice I've received in our autism journey was from other TACA moms who paved the way before us. I'm especially proud that 95% of what TACA offers to families is free! I am eternally grateful to TACA.
Not just a TACA client, also a volunteer. When I found TACA, my life was made so much easier by connecting with other families that had been through what my family was experiencing with Autism. I've been involved with TACA as a volunteer since 2009 and could not be prouder of this Autism organization that supports so many families across the country on a shoestring budget. The services and education they offer to families is priceless and thanks to TACA many children are finding health and reaching their full potential!
I am a client served first, then went on to be a volunteer. can't say enough about this organization. gave me hope when I was at my lowest. I have 5 children and 2 of them have autism. The information, support and friendship TACA has given me over the years is priceless, and has been life saving/changing!
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!
I have been involved with TACA for a few years now. I can't state enough how instrumental TACA has been in helping me and my two children with autism. They have support groups in the form of coffee chats, they provide FREE literature, books, monthly meetings and an awesome lending library that parents can utilize and its all free of charge which really helps a lot when I spend so much money on therapies and food, vitamins having access to free materials is a godsend. They have events and so much more that brings the community together to help typical families who are not touched directly with autism understand families that are in many different ways. I can honestly say I am less stress and my two children with autism have come far and its all because TACA has been there for us the last few years.
I have been touched by TACA when my son was diagnosed 5 years ago. It was the only website that gave me real information, resources and answers when I felt alone, lost and with not help at all.
We are very lucky now to have a Taca Chapter in our own town and I am a proud active volunteer. TACA is a group of families helping other families in same situations, a blessing! Volunteering for TACA is a gift. I can not thank TACA enough for what it does for so many families in daily basis.
When my son was diagnosed I was extremly overwhelmed and confused by all of the information available. I didn't know what to do to help my child or where to start. TACA provided me with clear information and help from other parents to guide me on this journey. The help has been life changing for my whole family! We are all extremly grateful for all TACA does!
TACA fills a huge void in the autism community. It is about families helping other families. I have been honored to have been helped by TACA- by way of their tremendous information and support network. Now I volunteer to offer other families these gifts. TACA has a terrific mission and is run seamlessly as a nonprofit.
TACA is families with autism helping families with autism and other special needs. As a client served, TACA helped me and my family get oriented to find help for my son. When we got the diagnosis, I felt so overwhelmed and TACA mentors helped me focus and find the right providers for my son. Now as a volunteer (chapter coordinator and parent mentor), I share our experience with other families to give them that same kind of guidance. Autism is such a complex disorder, and parents have a steep learning curve, so I feel so fortunate to have found TACA! My son has dome remarkably well (he has lost the diagnosis of autism), and he also is proud to be a part of this great org that helps so many families.
What is unique about TACA is that we (the volunteers) understand what parents need because we've lived with autism. We taylor our help to what a family needs from understanding the diagnosis and advocating for the right therapies and school placement to finding an experienced medical doctor who understands the many common medical issues that our kids suffer including gastrointestinal disorders, nutritional deficiencies and seizures.
TACA is a wonderful organization that serves families of kids with special needs. This caring group provides a great parent mentoring program, and a first class website filled with resources for parents. Highly recommend! And gives those of us who have benefited from such assistance a chance to pay it forward as volunteers to help newer parents navigate similar journies.
We are so fortunate to have found TACA for our family. TACA is an amazing support for families affected by autism. TACA provides parent support meetings, grants, education, and community outreach, just to name a few things. Thank you, TACA!!
I went to my first a TACA coffee talk one year ago and the information shared by other parents and the information provided during the Real Help Now conference will help save my son.
TACA is an amazing organization. People not only find help but long term friendship and amazing support. People are very committed in helping families and understand the 'immediate' help we parents need. If it is an email, chat or attending meetings I've always found an answer to my questions. Without TACA and their people my boy wouldn't be making the amazing progress he is.

I have met a variety of families over the past decade who have been helped tremendously. There is help for EVERYONE!!

This organization helped me learn how to bring my son back from autism. I am forever grateful and could not have found the answers without them. Every day I thank my lucky stars they are around and think of all the countless others they have helped.
Never have I seen an organization so committed to helping families with children with autism. Their website alone is so full of incredible information! It's one stop shopping! I am so devoted to being part of this organization; they do such good work!
Taca is by far the best autism non profit for biomedical and all things autism. Very comprehensive organization
TACA has been the place that parents of newly diagnosed kids with autism have come for hope for years. I am honored to be a volunteer and help parents find their way on the path to recovery for their kids. As I watch my own daughter with autism grow and heal, I am inspired to help others do the same. Thank you TACA for being the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. I love you!!
TACA has extraordinary reach in the autism community, they have built and maintain a huge data set of proven resources and tools for getting newly diagnosed families with autism up and running quickly and support for families in all walks of life, all stages of grief and functioning. I like to think of TACA as a helping hand, a friend when you need one a sounding board when you need one, a shoulder to cry on, and concerned mentor that will help you so that you can help yourself and in turn help others. I'm proud to be a TACA mentor and grateful that they've got my back,
TACA has been a tremendous beacon of HOPE! The support and guidance this organization provides families goes far beyond what I initially expected. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE TACA!
I've been both a TACA Client (5 years) and a TACA Volunteer for 3 years. This organization changed my life. I'm so grateful to have a TACA chapter near me and I get so much out of volunteering and helping others too.
TACA helped me to find the answers to help my son with autism at a crucial time. That was 12 years ago and today my son is 14, fully recovered from autism, destined to create a future of his choosing. None of that would have happened if not for the information I received through TACA. That is why even after he was declared recovered I continued with TACA as a volunteer mentor, and now Coordinator for the Massachusetts chapter. It's all about helping the next parent to find the answer for their child too.
TACA has been essential in my family's life since our son was diagnosed with autism six years ago. They have been supportive by providing many avenues to access education in a wide variety of topics (biomedical, legal, school district, financial assistance). Just as importantly TACA, has provided much needed emotional support. I have been a TACA Mentor for about three years and TACA has helped me help many people via continuing education. Now I am helping with TACA Connecticut and we are helping even more families every day. Without TACA, I would not be the advocate for my child that I am today.
TACA is an incredible asset to families living with autism in Hawaii! Hawaii is one of the most isolated spots on the planet. TACA connects us with the cutting edge physicians treating autism in the country. These physicians are featured in blogs and webinars. But sometimes TACA actually gets them to visit and provide a live lecture. And through TACA's influence, a few of them end up getting medical licenses in Hawaii so they can help our families even more!
TACA is a wonderful organization giving hope to families with autism. I am honored to be a mentor for them. When I first started recovering my son from autism 5 years ago I was told to get the TACA Journey Guide by a friend, and it was the best advice I ever got. He has made huge gains in the last 5 years and I thank TACA for helping me get started!
I cannot put into words what a blessing TACA has been to our family. Like many families affected by autism, when our son was diagnosed we were devastated and overwhelmed. We felt incredibly alone and had little to no guidance on what, if anything, we could do to help him. Thank God we found TACA, as it provided us with a lifeline of hope. With the knowledge and support of others who were walking similar journeys, we were able to seek financial support, and find resources and therapies that would help put our son on the path to recovery. As a volunteer for TACA, I can only hope our family can help other struggling families as much as TACA has helped us.
Having a child diagnosed with autism is an overwhelming thing. I know; it happened to me in 1998. Suddenly I needed to know about diets, therapies, special education law and more. It was more than overwhelming. For years when I could not leave the house and get to meetings because my child with autism was so sick, I used the TACA website as a valued source of up to date information on autism and the available treatments. Information truly is power, and it is key to helping parents make the best decisions possible for their child's treatment. In 2008 I began volunteering for TACA as a Chapter Coordinator in Illinois. TACA educates, empowers and supports families through a variety of programs, including monthly meetings that include educational speakers, informal coffee talks where parents can help and support each other on a regular basis, and a parent mentor program that matches new parent up with a seasoned, experienced parent who can help them navigate the autism journey. Every new family that attends a TACA event receives a free 300+ page book called "The Autism Journey Guide." It includes everything I wish someone had told me when my son was diagnosed. It's a fantastic resource. The TACA website is absolutely loaded with information and includes live chat so that parents can get help in the moment they need it. I love TACA. I believe in what we do. My time is precious. I would not volunteer my time for any other autism organization. TACA helps the families of children with autism in real and very meaningful ways every day. I am proud to volunteer for TACA. I know we make a difference in the lives of families of children with autism. And being an autism mom, there is no cause closer to my heart.
I joined TACA couple of months ago as a volunteer. It feels wonderful to be in the community of parents who are on the same journey, to feel support and to share the experience. TACA is great!
In this age of uncertainty in autism, while some are searching for a cause, and even more are scrambling to re-train the symptoms, it is priceless to have an organization that so bravely and unabashedly shows us how to actually repair our brain-injured children, all the while helping us appreciate them for the little wonders they are. It is why I have donated both money and time to the organization that is HELPING families affected by autism navigate through ALL the situations they are struggling with, whether it be financial, emotional or physical. TACA treats the whole child, heals the complete family and enlightens the entire the world. Thank you TACA!
Over 10 years ago, the word Autism came in to my vocabulary....and 6 years ago it came in to my HEART!! 6 years ago I was introduced to TACA through a friend that needed some help on planning a event for Autism Awareness...and since I help plan events for my job - I jumped at the chance to have some fun. Never in a milion years would I imagine the LOVE and appreciation I would receive ..... during the past 6 years of participating in several more events with TACA - and including my family to 'help out' by shlepping cases of drinks, setting up tables, walking horses for little kids that have never even been around horses, setting up auction items, on and on ..... never would I have imagined the amount of respect TACA treats it's volounteers. The entire TACA Team treats everyone with kindness and love. And thru this wonderful TACA team my children and family have learned so much about working hard by volunteering, as well as tolerance and respect for ALL people and the best of all .....simple human kindess.
I have been so fortunate the past 6 years now to have TACA in my life. I was introduced to the founders of TACA, Lisa & Glen Ackerman, back in 2006 as Buchanan Children's Charities was created, and we were looking for entrepreneurial organizations that would have a meaningful impact on children. TACA truly has the dedication to provide not only the children affected with autism, but also the families with the strength, connection to the community, and getting the needed help from professionals. I myself, don't have a family member that is autistic, but have recommended many friends. Now serving as an ambassador for TACA, it is so nice to see such passion & drive in this organization. The community needs more organizations like TACA so that people can connect, share stories, and most important know that there are resources available.
