TECH CORPS is an AMAZING organization that offered our daughter an opportunity of a lifetime. The programs that she was elected to attend in were very well structured, organized, and professionally ran by the staff of TECH CORPS. My daughter walked away from these programs with a welt of knowledge that she was able to apply during her academic school year. In addition, she was able to apply her learnings from Techie Camp outside of the classroom and into her acting. I can't say enough about how phenomenal TECH Corps is in a paragraph. The skills and exposure that she obtained through TECH Corps should be offered more frequently and we wish that we could have had a summer long program with this type of curriculum versus a weeklong. We all walked away from the program wishing we had more time!!!!!!! TECH CORPS your organization is AWESOME and the flexibility of the staff was very impressive!
My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed the Techie Camp. She’s learned a lot and met lifetime friends, I’m sure. This experience has broadened her thinking and she’s now confident to engage in more technical projects. Thanks for allowing us this life changing opportunity.
My son participated in Techie Camp this summer. He was elated to share his new skills with his family and enjoyed the overall experience of the camp. The skills he learned will be beneficial as he wants to become apart of the robotics team at his school.
Tech Corps put on a Techie Camp at our University last summer. The process was very easy and, for the most part, smooth. The experience was enjoyed by all participants and we look forward to hosting more Tech Corps-run camps in the future!
This was my son's first year attending the Techie Camp at Case Western Reserve and what a WONDERFUL experience!! I learned of the Techie Camp via of my son's school, Shaker Middle, and with the assistance of the scholarship given I am so happy he had the opportunity to attend, Thank you for the Blessing!! Planning early and looking forward to next year...DEFINETLY passing the word, what a great opportunity for our kids in today's society!!!
My son is in Techie club at Indianola K-8 and loves it. The Site Coordinator is amazing with a strong teaching background and my son finds it really fun and interesting. My son self-identifies as a person good in science and math, and this club allows him to explore his interests in a stimulating fun environment. He loves being around other like minded friends. Last year he would really be upset if a snow day closed the school on a Techie Club meeting day!
My son had a great time in Techie Camp is summer. He was so excited to get to camp everyday and learn.
Techie Camp: Girl Power was an amazing opportunity and experience for my daughter and her friend. I am so grateful that they were able to participate. I think the girls learned so much while having a great time. They also developed much greater self-efficacy in building, programming, trouble shooting, and working in collaborative teams. Great stuff!!!!
The Tech Corps program is well thought out and executed. Our first year bringing this program to our school was last year, and the experience was great. The volunteers did a great job dealing with the students, and the students were very excited. We appreciate our partnership with Tech Corps.
I have had the privilege of working with Tech Corps for the last two years as the principal of Georgian Heights Alternative Elementary School. I have worked with Tech Corp to sponsor our after school Techie Club. The Techie Club provides hands-on technology activities and lessons that directly align with our alternative program which focuses on math, science, and environmental studies. The Tech Corp staff is professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. Our school staff and community value the program due to their programming and leadership. It is a pleasure to work with Tech Corp and it is my hope our partnership continues for a very long time.
We had a fantastic experience with Carla Thompson and Tech Corps. They brough Techie Camp to our school district's summer camp program and the kids absolutely loved it. For many of them, it was their first exposure to this type of a camp and what they were able to learn and accomplish in just a week blew my mind! Through their partnership with Honda, Tech Corps was able to eliminate the financial barrier to participation for our students. Josh Berberick, our Techie Camp Instructor, was so awesome - great with the kids, so personable and a lot of fun. This is a game changer for our summer camp program. I can't say enough great things about this organization!
We have had the pleasure of partnering with TECH CORPS on the Case Western Reserve University campus and we look forward to hosting future TECH CORPS programming. I highly recommend supporting this important organization!
My 7 year old rising third grader loved the summer program so much she couldn't wait to start the school year program! Additonally, we had been looking for a techie/robotics program for quite sometime and because of her age... We had always been told she had to wait until she was 9 or in the fourth grade. We are so glad TECH CORPS gets it and engages girls at an earlier age!
Tech Corps does a great job getting kids excited about technology. My son went to tech camp over the summer, and it really fueled his passion. He is still using all the programming knowledge he acquired to continue programming on his own, and he can't wait for next year's camp! We are so grateful for the experience, and the Tech Corps personnel are so helpful. They really have a heart to give to the next generation. Thank you, Tech Corps, for your all your hard work and dedication to our future programmers!
We have done techie camp for four years now and I love how it made my children more comfortable and creative when working with technology.
My daughter has attended three different Tech Corp programs over the last three years. The computer programming camp was well organized, thorough, and gave her a "behind the scene" look at how computer games really function. The Women of Engineering all day camp opened her eyes to how many different engineering professions are available. They did a great job allowing the girls to explore these different professions in a fun educational atmosphere. Lastly, she is in her third year of First LEGO League and keeps coming back because of all it offers. Being only 11 and already having such a positive experience with programming, teamwork, research, presentation, and a final competition where they put all these skills to use; has been a priceless opportunity. Very proud of all she works for and thankful there are great donors that contribute to this organization so she and others have this positive experience. Thank you!
My son has attended three different Techie Camp programs over the past several years. As a parent, what I love the most is that he isn’t just playing games—he is creating them! It’s a different level of thinking and he is always engaged and excited about his projects. Even after camp is over, he uses what he learns to continue to develop projects on his own. As a teacher, I am always impressed with the dedication of the Techie Camp staff. They make sure that each child gets the attention and support that they need. Their focus on creativity, collaboration, and innovation truly reflects what Techie Camp is all about.
I love Tech Corps. My son had an amazing time there. He started off at another camp that was more out door based the other kids were very rude and my son hated it. The staff did nothing until I took my son out of the program. The staff and kids were very in tuned to what we needed and wanted. The camps were a great and fum learning experience and the scholarship was great for us as I had recently lost my job. Thank you again and we hope to see you next year
TECHie Camp was life changing! I had never thought about programming in my life or anything related to movie making. I just was sparked by the idea of being able to make mini movies and games. At first it took a bit before it got super fun! You needed to learn the basics so your character moves right. But then you got to start doing your own videos and games. Sometimes I would be so rapped up in the making of my videos that I wouldn't realize how hungry I was and when lunch time came I would be happy to eat, but I didn't want to go out for recess. Our teachers where really helpful and patient with us and tried to make sure that we got our videos done. I downloaded the computer programming that we used and now my siblings are doing it too. I wish to go again soon or try another subject the next time the camps come around. Beth, 7th grader.
