The Support Connection is undoubtedly the most amazing organization supporting women with breast and ovarian cancers! Although the Support Connection is a small organization in number, the staff is overwhelming in their commitment to helping women both locally and nationally. When women are feeling vulnerable, scared and alone with a diagnosis of cancer, the peer counselors (survivors themselves) are there to support and listen. I never cease to be amazed by their energy, compassion and love.
Each staff member at Support Connection are special people who are passionate about what they do, and truly care about each individual that calls or enters their door. My sister received the best emotional support and TLC whenever she spoke/met with a counselor, and I had the honor of volunteering for their annual walk-a-thon.
A non-profit with commitment and integrity and individuals with honesty and compassion
I've loved volunteering for this organization and seeing firsthand the difference they make in women's lives who have been touched by cancer. Great organization with great volunteers!
As a breast cancer survivor, I was able to take advantage of Support Connection's free confidential services many years ago. Although I have remained cancer free, I continue to help support them by raising much need funds for their services. I continue to educate those most in need of these services and let them know how much they have helped me. Their services are top notch and exceptional!
I am a licensed massage therapist specializing in oncology massage and the management of lymphedema related to cancer treatment.
To honor the memory of a dear friend who died of ovarian cancer, I approached Support Connection five years ago to volunteer my services. Some of the people who received a free massage have become my clients; I participate in the annual Support Connection walk; and I attend information forums sponsored by Support Connection. I cherish my connection to this AMAZING little engine- of- a- nonprofit. With a tiny staff and the selfless help of many, many loyal supporters, Support Connection has provided counselling, support, information, love and community to thousands of women and their family members who are dealing with cancer diagnosis, treatment and survival. There are no sufficient words to describe the hope and goodness that Support Connection generates and spreads in ever widening circles.
Support Connection serves the community in a very important role. I have worked with the members of this organization and they are a group of caring and compassionate people. I am happy to help this organization in any way possible.
I have been involved with the support connection for 20 years I volunteered to do the warm up at their annual walk they are so caring and supportive and help so many through their wonderful programs, caring staff and dedication to their mission to help our community
I've been lucky, no one in my family has been a victim of breast or ovarian cancer but we all know people who have. Support Connection is a place to turn when you or a loved one gets the news need a shoulder to lean on, Where better to seek advice than from a place where people have walked in your shoes, know what it's like and are there to listen, share and offer support when you need it most. I walk for my friend Lenore and her sister. I walk so if my daughters ever need a place to turn, Support Connection will be there for them.
I've had the pleasure of working with this organization for many years now and have enjoyed getting to know the staff. Everyone has a connection to breast and/or ovarian cancer and this is what makes the staff so good at what they do - providing services and programs to women with breast and ovarian cancer as well as their families and friends.
Never have I met a more dedicated, caring group of workers. They treat me with the same respect, care and tenderness that they show each and every survivor. As a survivor myself, I always recommend Support Connection to the women who could more certainly benefit by utilizing their services.
